Free, easy to use Message Boards???

Does anyone know of a free, easy to set up and use message board service or software? I'd like to set up a simple message board for friends that have moved around the country.

Ideally, maybe a web site that allows you to configure a chunk of their message boar for your use?d

proboards.com is free and fairly decent when it comes to some alterations. I use it for my online groups.
