I was watching a program about the giant crystal cave in Mexico. It was amazing and it gave me a new vision of the Underdark. I would suggest that anyone who gets a chance should take a look at it.

That is flat out amazing. As far as the D&D underdark goes, how about an entire Drow city made of crystal?

I had thought about that. One thing the mentioned is that some of the crystals had trapped fluid as they grew. What if that fluid was phosperescent, or had a radioactive element that caused it to glow?

Its also damn hot! An ex-coworker's father had been there. SHe said it was outlandish.

Gotta go someday, but I believe the big crystal section its not open to general public

Yep. The crystals would also be made into weapons because they have some sort of magical property. Drow slaves would be used to collect the crystal. There are a lot of cool ideas that could come from this.

Or they could be natural psi-crystals.
