I find myself needing more players for both my campaigns here on the boards
my PF Beta Wilderlands/Goodman campaign
My Rise of the Runelords campaign currently running under 3.5 but probably upgrading to Beta
Clerical and rogueish/bardic types especially wanted also arcane casters for the runelords game.
Drop me a line here if interested

I'm interested in the Rise of the Runelords game. A Neutral Human Cleric of Nethys (from Absalom, of mixed descent) with the Magic and Knowledge Domains sounds like it might cover the Cleric needs and at least be able to use arcane magic items (like scrolls and wands) which is kinda, sorta like having an arcanist in the group...
Rough draft of such a character;
Marak Quan
Human male Cleric 1, N, Nethys
Str 10 (+0), Dex 12 (+1), Con 14 (+2), Int 12 (+1), Wis 16 (+3), Cha 11 (+0)
(0 + 2 + 5 + 2 + 10 + 1 = 20)
HP: 10, AC: 19 (+4 armor, +2 shield, +1 Dex), Spd 20 ft., Init +1, Saves: Fort +4, Ref +1, Will +5, BAB +0, Grapple +0, Atk: +0 Morningstar (1d8 B/P), +2 Sling (1d4 damage, 20 crit, 50’ range)
Class Abilities: Rebuke/Bolster/Command Undead, Domains (Knowledge, Magic)
Feats: Spell Focus (conjuration), Augment Summoning, Varisian Tattoo (conjuration)
Languages: Common (Taldane),
Skills (16): Concentration (Con) 1 (+3), Craft (alchemy) 1 (Int, +2), Diplomacy 1 (Cha, +1), Heal (Wis) 2 (+5), Knowledge (arcane) 2 (Int, +3), Knowledge (architecture & engineering) 1 (Int, +2), Knowledge (history) 2 (Int, +3), Knowledge (religion) 1 (Int, +2), Knowledge (the planes) 0 (Int, -), Profession (Wis, Scribe/Illuminator) 4 (+7), Spellcraft (Int) 1 (+2)
Spells (can spontaneously change any to Inflict Wounds):
0 (3) – Cure Minor Wounds x3
1st (1+1) – Cure Light Wounds, Summon Monster I, Detect Secret Doors (D)
Morning Star (8 gp, 6 lbs), Sling (-, -) w/10 stones (5 sp, 5 lbs), Chain Shirt (+4 armor, 100 gp, 25 lbs, +4 MDB, -2 ACP, 20% ASF), heavy wooden shield (7 gp, +2 shield bonus, -2 ACP, 10 lbs), Backpack (2 gp, 2 lbs), Bedroll (1 sp, 5 lbs), Rations x5 (2.5 gp, 5 lbs), Waterskin (1 gp, 4 lbs), Flint & Steel (1 gp, -), Signal Whistle (8 sp, -), Belt Pouch (1 gp, ½ lb), wooden holy symbol (1 gp, -)
Encumbrance (Lt 33 lbs, Med 34-66 lbs, Hvy 67-100 lbs): 62.5 lbs carried
Cash Spent: 124.9 gp, Cash Remaining: 25 gp, 1 sp, ‘Day Job check’: Profession (scribe/illuminator) +7
Favored Class: Cleric
Born to a Varisian scribe and a Taldan merchant in the cosmopolitan city of Absalom, Marak spent his young years seeking out the source of the strange markings on his skin, markings that have since developed along with his mystical training into full-fledged tattoos, in the Varisian style, marking him as having great potential in the arts of Conjuration. His mother, having long departed the city, had no explanations for him, and his father would not speak of such things, growing sullen at any mention of his departed wife, so Marak was forced to seek out tutelage where he could, and discovered that the only source of such esoteric information that he could afford was that provided by pledging service in the temple of Nethys. Now an acolyte of that faith, Marak worked off his debt as a scribe and illuminator of holy texts for the lore and research required to master his tattoo’s power.
A new development has given him cause for concern, as more markings have begun to appear on his flesh, usually after strange dreams of great obelisks, covered with similar markings that glow like fire in time with those on his skin. The wise men at the temple began to look at him askance with this new development, and he realized that he was on the brink of going from acolyte to research subject.
Spending his hoarded savings on protective gear (armor, shield, weapons), Marak booked passage to the wilderness of Varisia, country of his long-vanished mother, to see if he can find these haunted columns that plague his dreams, and discover the source and meaning of these arcane markings that have seared themselves into his skin, and upon his very soul.

Wellard, looks like you've a good bit of interest. If you haven't filled up, I'll fill any gaps in the parties. I'm happy to play any class. You can get some idea of my posting schedule from the Rotting War campaign.
Unfortunately, I leaving this weekend, back Tuesday.
I am playing in several other PbP, so if you're oversubscribed just cut me. So if I miss the boat, that's fine too.
| Khaladon |
I've been ejoying playing with you as a player and as a DM Wellard so I'll also happily join your wilderlands/goodman campaign if you still need players. I'll also happily play either an arcane or rouge character (leaning towards arcane). As I'm already in several games though (never enough! never enough!lol) I'll give up my spot to anyone who's just joining paizo
And welcome to our Runelords game Set/Marak Quan! Sounds like you're just the fella we need. =D

also arcane casters for the runelords game.

Would there be room for a formerly moody goth/currently perky goth NG(on the edge of N) sorceress that would probably have a celestial bloodline in Beta?
In her early teens, she became withdrawn and bitter, totally absorbed in her own typical teenage problems. Around that time she, rather childishly, began crafting new personas that she adopted and abandoned regularly in an attempt to both recreate herself as something other than the "mundane nobody" she saw herself as and as a way to get attention. It turns out that one can easily call herself the "Black Witch of Sandpoint; it's much more difficult to get anyone to take you seriously afterwards. She indulged herself in power fantasies, dreaming of one day mastering the dark arts and becoming Her Great and Terrible Majesty, Queen of all Varisia, always accompanied by a helping of "and then they'll be sorry". The early, weak manifestations of magical talent only helped feed her ego. This was all empty bravado of course. The one time she approached a wizard passing through town about leaving her home to become his apprentice, he saw her for the fearful, immature teenager she really was, put a bit of a scare in her, and she ran home crying.
But everyone starts to grow up sooner or later. She eventually found friends willing to put up with her crap long enough to get to know her, and more importantly, willing to call her out on her anti-social behavior. After some much needed hard knocks, she began opening up and realized that life actually isn't always pain. She still kept the black clothing, the fascination for the dark and macabre, and the sometimes morbid sense of humor. Those she still saw as part of her self image. But at least she had started smiling and enjoying life. This was a great relief to her mother, who was grateful that her daughter wasn't actually obsessed with evil of any kind, but rather innocently infatuated with the trappings of the dark tales she had buried herself in. She still held onto some pretentions, and actually still took a bit of pleasure in maintaining her reputation as "that creepy girl", but at least she had friends to call her out on it and take the wind out of her sails when she needed it. Gods knew her mother never hesitated to, which always reduced her daughter to whining protests that "You're embarrassing me."
On her 18th birthday, it became clear to local authorities on such matters that her talents were inborn. Whatever magic she had was in her blood. Her imagination lit on fire, wondering at what mysterious heritage had granted her this gift. Could she carry the blood of the fey, from the dark forests of the world? Or maybe some sort of infernal curse that was surfacing in her bloodline, something that she would have to fight against(naturally) and master?!
She asked her mother about this, eager to find out what the source of this power could be. Her mother rubbed the bridge of her nose, she saw this coming eventually. It may have skipped her generation but it was clear it was surfacing in her daughter. "Don't you remember all the stories I tried to tell you? About your great-grandfather? And his mother? You don't remember the part about his father?"
"Um...no?"
"The shining knight? The one that saved your great-great-grandmother's life? The one with the golden eyes that could only stay with her for a short time, only able to return in time to escort her to Pharasma's court? The one with the angelic aura about him?"
"Oh." Well. That was unexpected. She probably should have been paying attention. "I'm not going to start wearing white, mother."
She hasn't told anyone else what she learned that day. Though it was not what she was expecting, she has taken a certain level of pride and, strangely, comfort in it. She has been becoming a bit more insufferable again though, perhaps in protest. While she's much more well adjusted these days, she still has some old insecurities hanging on, especially a weakness to peer-pressure. As much as she fiercely holds onto her individual self-image and as happy as she is to be at the fringe of the group, she's terrified of being completely outside of it again. The knowledge of the nature of her power and the potential for its growth is also possibly leading to old childish delusions of grandeur returning, just with different clothing.

Thank you all for the interest..
Bill Khaladon and Robin...I'd be happy to see you all in the Wilderlands..character level 3. my current regular posters are druid/wizard, Duskblade and swashbuckler..we are nearly finished with the current scenario at which point the party will be retiring to the village to reform and will meet you
Robin..the great thing about the Wilderlands is it is a Multiversal crossroads so you could be a follower of any diety you wish..or a philosophy. They all get power
Set and Valkyrie welcome to the Runelords game which will be going beta as soon as my current players have switched their characters up.Current level is 2 having just rescued Amieko and about to explore the smugglers passage
Dax if you can do characters I'd be happy to see you there too.Current party after adding the above is..Wild Druid(variant class) Binder, Ranger, Cleric, Sorceress
and thats the maximum numbers I want ..sorry to anyone else who might have been interested.
BTW Thom I see you CotCT group has lost their sorceress..are you looking for a replacement..I could play Heather(whose back story is wonderfully entwined with the NPCs and has loads of potential for good roleplay) or if you have problems with me usurping another players character, I could bring in my own girl Andrea(who has her own issues)

This is Robin
Ok if I understand rightly , this is a 25 points buy rules
Any idea about starting money and do you use traits. can we convert some money on magicals items ?
I was thinking of update this character initially created for a second darkness campaign who didn't really start
Let me know what you think .

yes 25 point Pathfinder buy...standard character cash..2700 Gp for the Wilderlands game. You get Racial hit points as well.
The Character looks fine Robin...although Aude had best be aware that our Swashbuckler is a bit of a ladies man.
No problem with Golarion dieties in the Wilderlands although a lot of peoples reactions will be.."WHO?" This is because the conduits to their power have only recently opened up[
I forgot to say in the above post that Thom is 1st on my list if anyone else falls by the wayside.Sorry I can't fit you in mate but 6 players a party is the maximum I really want to run

The Wilderlands OOC thread is here

Can we use feats from the Pathfinder Society download?
Ooh, good question. Master of Pentacles is sweet. Unfortunately, I've already blown all my Feats (and my character isn't gonna be Chelaxian...).
Switching him over to Beta rules (and up to 2nd level) now.
Questions;
1) Roll for hit points on Invisible Castle for 2nd level, or can we take average? (Five, for a d8)
2) How much money is appropriate for level two?

I'm willing to give everyone all the time thay need to get thier characters in order..the wilderlands typoes have a little more leeway as i have to finish off the scenario i amrunning at the moment..but it will take a while to get the Runelords group upgraded and ready to go .
So don't worry Valkyrie..
Bill to be honest the caster heavy wilderlands group needs a rogue and a tanking fighter or a ranger.
and I'm loath to use feats from a download I can't acess so I'm afraid the PFS feats are out.

Wellard, you wrote above that a 3rd level character shoud have 2,700 gp. Is that a typo? Did you mean 270 gp?
no BIll the 3,5 DMG says starting gear for a level 3 character should be 2700Gps worth..believe me the current characters will have about that much when they return from the adventure they are in

I'm giving 75% of maximum on hit dice after first level and using the racial hitpoints from page 14 of the beta rule book..so you get 6 hp+con per level and an additional 6 hp for being human.(believe me you'll need them )
a 2nd level character should have 900 Gp according to the 3.5 DMG
Awesome, thanks, adjusting Marak appropriately.
Edit: Updated, with heaps o' hit points. About the only sketchy thing I went for was a Wand of Cure Light Wounds with only 25 charges (for half price, since I couldn't afford a fully-charged one). If that's an issue, I'll ditch it and pick up some scrolls.
| Khaladon |
Ok, putting together by Bow track Ranger now :)
(PS Duskblades Kick A$$! I'm playing a 13th level one now on another board and Loving Her! ;-)
Hmmm...I Did like the idea someone mentioned earlier in the Wl/GG Ooc about making a Duskblade with a ranged weapon...Maybe ranger multied with Duskblade (at least till level 3 when the casting through weapon ability kicks in??)

I need a rogue or rogue/multiclass for the Rise of the Runelords as Dax has pulled out. Sorry to Straitjacket you but it's the only slot the party really needs to fill.
Straight jacket is ok. Rogue is good, though picking skills always takes me forever. So many good choices. I'll probably try to mix a little arcane caster in, maybe shoot for arcane trickster in the unforeseeably distant future.
I'll get on it tonight.
