Eberron: Endless war

Gamer Connection

1 to 50 of 60 << first < prev | 1 | 2 | next > last >>

The Keeper of forbidden lore looks into many realms, countless worlds. Today she casts her glaze upon Eberron, but not the Eberron that you know. This Eberron magic and the technology of magic have moved more then the one you know. House Cannith produces the compounds for repeating crossbows that has found there way into every nations armies. Warforged of diffent builds and makes still walk from the forges. Troops are bogged down in trenches, airships both great and small fill the sky. Fields are lined with hidden blast disks. Here unlike most Eberrons magic and technology are truly becoming one.
Here there was no day of morning, no end of the Last war. In the year 1008 the last war rages. Cyre Still struggles to hold on. For the last 12 years Cyre has stockpiled it’s troops mass-produced it’s transports and weapons. For 12 long years it’s saw towns and fields fall to the enemies as the trenches pushed back. Now is the time of Cyre’s new offensive. The preparations of 12 long years are now at hand. And at the for fount is the 112th regiment the infamous black caps.

You will take to role of these elite commandos. You will be at the for fount, raiding plans, assassinating commander, sabotaging what is need. You will do what is needed, You will see it done, You will not fail.

Welcome to the Black Caps.

I be interested as well!

I'd like to play a ranger for a change, but let me think about it some more.
Are the variant warforged that we discussed in to play? If so, then I might consider a rogue...

yep that one is in. Do keep in mind that warforged are not free in this eberron yet however

No problem with that.
You have to keep in mind, that I don't know much about Ebberon at all.

well there is not a whole lot of info on cyre so I get to make it up yay.

This will be farther along then the normal eberron timeline as it's 1008 not 998

will post all useful info when I get a game thread agoing

Dark Archive

I can finally post in this thread!

Seeker - I was tossing about making a monk ... mechanics-wise, I think they could make a very good commando. The only thing I might need help with is determining how a monk came into the military (not knowing much about Cyre). I assume a monk's gear might be different than the standard, as well?

EDIT: oh, and because I'm sometimes a bit dense - that's 4d6 minus the lowest roll for abilities, right?

I'm a complete newbie to Eberron. Would anyone mind lending me a character? Would the DM mind me playing him / her?

yeah bryan that's 4d6 drop the lowest arrange as you like.

Jz newbies are fine, just give a concept and I am happy to help ya out with it

Seeker

Spoiler:
Is there a minimum score? Not that I'm a power-gamer type, but I was a bit unlucky today ...Ability Generation 4d6 six times (4d6=17, 4d6=12, 4d6=6, 4d6=16, 4d6=8, 4d6=17)
Dropping the lowest: 16, 11, 5, 13, 7, 14

Liberty's Edge

Dark Archive

Have to work tonight but can make up a character tomorrow afternoon.

ok we have 7 guys

Game thread is here

Dark Archive

the discussion thread hates me, but i'm going to make an evoker

filling a 'heavy artillery' role in the group

As it turns out I was accepted into a game I requested earlier. Thank you Seeker, but I think I'd better stay out of your game.

No prob JZ, happy gameing

Liberty's Edge

looks interesting...any diferences in classes at all from the Beta?

and what races are avaialable?

beta and artifacer, races are beta + eberron races. See the tread for more info. If ya need more info on a race just ask.

Liberty's Edge

Im interested...what classes are avaialable and what's the down and dirty on these three races...

changling : add a +2 to one stat
Kalashtar: add a +2 to one mental stat
Shifter:change to +2 dex +2 wis -2 cha

;) Ive been to the discussion thread and looked around, Im thinking yeah, and will get character stuff together as I have a better grasp on what I want to play ;)

what do you have so far?

we have an invoker, a gnome sorcerer or artificer, 2 monks and a cleric so far

Shifter=

Spoiler:

Shifters, sometimes called “the weretouched,” are descended from humans and natural lycanthropes, now nearly extinct on Khorvaire. Shifters cannot fully change shape but can take on animalistic features—a state
they call shifting. Shifters have evolved into a unique race that breeds true. They have a distinct culture with its own traditions and identity

Physical Description: Shifters are basically humanoid in shape, but their bodies are exceptionally lithe. They often move in a crouched posture, springing and leaping while their companions walk normally alongside. Their faces have a bestial cast, with wide, fl at noses,
large eyes and heavy eyebrows, pointed ears, and long sideburns (in both sexes). Their forearms and lower legs grow long hair, and the hair of their heads is thick and worn long.

changlings=

Spoiler:

Changelings are subtle shapeshifters capable of disguising their appearance. They evolved through the union of doppelgangers and humans, eventually becoming a separate race distinct from either ancestral tree. They do not possess the full shapechanging ability of a doppelganger, but they can create effective disguises at will. This ability makes them consummate spies and criminals, and many changelings live up to that potential.

Physical Description: Changelings strongly resemble their doppelganger lineage, with only a passing nod to their human heritage. All changelings fall within the boundaries of Medium size, usually standing between 5 and 6 feet tall. Unlike true doppelgangers, changelings do have gender in their natural form, although they can adopt any shape they like. Changelings have pale gray skin, and their hair is thin and fair. Their limbs are long and slightly out of proportion compared to other humanoids. Their faces have slightly more distinct features than a doppelganger’s, including a hint of nose and lips, though their eyes remain blank white and the rest of their facial features don’t look quite as finished as those on a human.

Kalashtar=
Spoiler:

The kalashtar are a compound race: incorporeal entities from the alien plane of Dal Quor, the Region of Dreams, merged with human bodies and spirits to form a distinct species. They were once a minority among the quori, the native race of Dal Quor, hunted and persecuted for their religious beliefs. Thousands of years after the quori invaded Eberron and the connection between their plane and the Material Plane was severed, the kalashtar were the first of the quori to discover a means to reach the Material Plane once more. Fleeing persecution, they transformed their physical forms into psychic projections that allowed them to enter the Material Plane and possess willing humans. Today, new kalashtar are born, not possessed; neither spirit nor human, they are a new race that breeds true. It took three hundred years for the other quori to discover a similar means to psychically project their spirits out of Dal Quor and possess human bodies forming the Inspired , while leaving their own bodies behind—much as mortals project their minds to Dal Quor when they dream. For fifteen hundred years now, the Inspired in their vast kingdom of Riedra have continued to persecute and oppress the kalashtar.

Physical Description: Kalashtar appear very similar to humans, but they have a grace and elegance that makes them seem almost too beautiful. They are slightly taller than the average human, and their faces have as light angularity that sets them apart from the human norm, but these deviations only make them seem more attractive

I can get you info and stats if ya want as the changes above are to make them fit into pathfinder rules

Liberty's Edge

Looking at the group Im thinking a changling Rogue might be a good addition. What think ye?

If that's what you want to play then sure, I can see many uses for one.

I'll post the game info for a changeling

Spoiler:

• Shapechanger Subtype: Changelings are humanoids
with the shapechanger subtype.
• Medium: As Medium creatures, changelings have
no special bonuses or penalties due to their size.
• Changeling base land speed is 30 feet.
• +2 racial bonus on s aving throws against
sleep and charm effects: Changelings have
slippery minds.
• +2 racial bonus on Bluff, Intimidate, and Sense
Motive checks: Changelings are inherently skilled in
deception and intimidation, and though they cannot
actually detect thoughts as doppelgangers can, they
can intuitively read body language and attitude with
surprising accuracy.
• Natural Linguist: Changelings add Speak Language
to their list of class skills for any class they adopt.
• Minor Change Shape (Su): Changelings have the
super natural ability to alter their appearance as
though using a disguise self spell that affects their
bodies but not their possessions. This ability is not
an illusory effect, but a minor physical alteration of
a changeling’s facial features, skin color and texture,
and size, within the limits described for the spell. A
changeling can use this ability at will, and the alteration
lasts until she changes shape again. A changeling
reverts to her natural form when killed. A true seeing
spell reveals her natural form. When using this ability
to create a disguise, a changeling receives a +10
circumstance bonus on Disguise checks. Using this
ability is a full-round action.
• Automatic Languages: Common. Bonus Languages:
Auran, Dwarven, Elven, Giant, Gnome, Halfling,
and Terran.
• Favored Class: Rogue. A multiclass changeling’s rogue
class does not count when determining whether she
takes an experience point penalty for multiclassing

Liberty's Edge

Ok sign me up...Ill get to IC and rolld them bones before the day is out. Then start the work on ye olde character...

just post in the discussion thread man

Casts thread reanimation

Ok this game has mostly died. I have 2 of 6 players left so time to bring in fresh blood

Ya can see from up top the ideal. Now here is the low down

The group is on a mission to brake into a POW camp on the karrnath boarder of crye Now he is where new players would come in

Every thing went bad, the mission went off the rails, so it will be the 2 squad members and the new PC's ...you can be solders or something else In the pow camp

I'll set it 3 or 4 days after the mission went south and your be makings your way south to crye over enemy held land with little in the way of gear or supply's just what ya made if out with

sound fun?

If so I am looking for 3 or 4 players

Yay!

Can I be a kobold!
DM:
Spoiler:
I'm thinking a female kobold rogue, having wished to play one for a while. Pleeease? ;)

well this is eberron...so yes, you may be treated as 2nd classes but ya wont just be a monster

seekerofshadowlight wrote:

What do you mean?

I don't think Eberron has anything that doesn't allow kobolds as characters, does it?

No goblins and kobolds are even citizens of many of the nation, long ago they had an empire. You may be treated like a 2nd class citizen is what i mean, most kobolds and goblins are treated like a lower class

But in most places you will not be seen as a best or monster to be killed on sight,

Kobold pc's would work fine in eberron

I'm interested in joining, but I've never played in Eberron before and I don't have any of the Eberron books or anything. Is that okay? If it is, is there any particular class that your group is in need of?

you don't need to know the setting or own the books most info ya need is in this thread or the game thread, anything more and i would be happy to get it for ys.

as for classes well

Survivors are a soulbknife and a monk... so anything is good

Just been going through the books, and I think that artificer might fit better. Is that okay? It's just, I've already played a lot of kobold rogues, and I've never played an artificer before.
Thanks again. :)

I'm interested too. Leaning towards a wizard.

I'm leaning towards a half-elf rogue then. Are we starting at the same level listed above?

Well, here are the stats I rolled: STR 5, DEX 12, CON 13, INT 15, WIS 11, CHA 12

Low enough to earn a reroll?

Wow, umm, the dice hate me too. In fact the dice hate me more. (This is why we don't do random rolls anymore for home games. This always happens to me.)
I got Str13, Dex9, Con11, Int7, Wis6, Cha12.
That's not even a good commoner. :(

Anything under 10 is a reroll....Yeah I did random for this one, Just wanted to

anyhow ok your all from a POW camp...that means ya cant be military, or spys or something else....they put ya in there for a reason

It would be best if most where from crye as this are used to be part of crye before it was taken

Time line is in the thread oe here......As for equipment well that's iffy...ya can have one of the packs off the dead guy or pick stuff that might be from the guards or the supply s of the camp or maybe they kept your gear for ransom [Spellbooks and such]

Anything listed in the fullpack is easy to get...anything else let me know

Until ya get back your be using salvaged gear...after ya get back...who knows

My ability rolls:
14
13
14
17
14
11

The rerolled score: 1d6=5, 1d6=5, 1d6=5, 1d6=4 Thus, 15.

My rerolled scores: Dex:15, Int:12, Wis:10.

So that's Str 13, Dex 15, Con 11, Int 12, Wis 10, Cha 12.

Well, I should be just about done now.

I had a situation blow up at home today, and my in person gaming group is tonight, so I won't be able to work on my character until tomorrow. I'll get it done before Sunday though.

Did the Gatekeepers exist before the Last War?
EDIT: If they did, my backstory's done! Will do stats soon.
Also, for easy reference, Here is teh Discussion Thread, and here is the IC thread!

Synatria Silven wrote:

Yes. Technically, they were the first druid sect to exist.

As davi says yep there are the first druids going way back No hurry guys we can start mid next week to give everyone time to get stuff done

And ty KC i was getting to that. very helpful to have listed

Any how the game fizzed as We lost players and my connection has been spotty...do mostly to RL issue so with you 3 then we have 5

Do we need to pay for our gear? I'm assuming not, but let me know if otherwise.

What did you say about a time line?
Also, can I have a dagger please? She's hiding it with a very lucky Sleight of Hand roll.
EDIT: Whoops, forgot that daggers give a +2 to Sleight of Hand with them. 22, then.
