Get this,
I was raised in Ontario and went to little school there t'ill I was about 11 years old... Then my father found work in Montreal and found myself moving to Quebec on a one-day notice. So in one swift stroke, I lost every friend I ever had and had to start from scratch.
I've often wondered what became of my old school buddies from Ontario. Over the years, I tried multiple times to find them; Looking in phone repertoires, sending letters, and when the internet came, even tried to 'google' their names to see if I could find someone, anyone. All to no prevail.
The last year, one of my friends talks to me about Facebook. I was reluctant at first, but finally gave it a shot. And on the second day; BANG! I find one of my old schoolmates from way back then. We write each other, we become 'Facebook Friends', and then she tells me that she has another of my old friends in her 'friends list', so I make friends with her too and BANG! Now I've got two.
To make a long story short, in the months that followed, I found a total of 19 old school friends out of a class of like 26, and we now talk and exchange regularly. We've even planned a little reunion this week end, and I've jumping off the walls just thinking that I'll finally get to meet these folks again after more than 25 years!! So I'm off to Ontario for the entire weekend to meet with these people that I first met in kindergarden.
It's like a dream (for me).
Just wanted to share that...

Well, my reunion happened as planned... It was magical and very emotional. Like walking through a portal in time. We will definetly do this again next year, and are hoping that even more will show up. So even though we haven't talked to each other in twenty-five years, it was like we never left each other's sides. What great folks they are. I already miss them dearly.

Thanks for the update, UD!
That's friggin' awesome. I've had similar experiences of people from my past looking me up on MySpace... but it's never been anything more than "Gee whiz... THAT guy. Well, I'll be."-people, and one or two "AW, CRAP. Why did THAT person have to find me?!?"-type people.
I'm glad to hear that it's worked out so well for you! :)
