The Exchange RPG Superstar 2009 Top 8

Although the origins of the game would be lost it time, 'Varisian' chess actually descends from ancient Thassilonia. There are seven sides to the board. Each side has one 'Lord' and several 'minions'. In the center of the board is an emperor. If a Lord's Minion makes it to one of the center squares, the Lord gains the 'favour of the emperor'. Each Lord has a unique style of favour.

The Lord of Wrath gains the power to force one opponent to attack the opponent to his immediate left at the earliest opportunity.

The Lord of Envy gains the power to draw an opponent's piece towards her as a free action.

Etcetera.

Very nice. It's like Chinese checkers, but different. What would the other sin powers be, and how often could one use them? And would it require seven players?

If there are two players, each player chooses 3 lords to be allied together. Sloth does not participate.

Sloth only participates if there are 7 players.

Sloth's power: when sloth moves a minion that is directly in front of sloth or another minion, the minion can be towed along with it. When an opponent's minion passes by one of Sloth's minions without taking the piece, Sloth's minion may hitch a ride.

The Exchange

Interesting.
