speaking to our prisoner
So you've got several options there
* Leave now and try your luck getting out of the forest alone
* Wait for us to deal with your former friends knowing that if we fail , they might not be happy with you
* Helping us
Which will it be ?

Clark Freeman |

"You're letting me go? Well, I won't be bothering you again. Being an outlaw isn't all that it's chalked up to be, you know."
With a level look and a hand on his sword hilt, Clark says, "Mind you keep quiet and not alert the camp, or I'll make sure we don't need to debate letting you go a second time." But then he grins and relaxes, sticks out his hand, and says, "I wish you luck and a better life. Perhaps we will meet again under better circumstances."

Clark Freeman |

Well , I would try to eliminate the guard first by myself and then we concentrate our atacks on the so called boss
"Is there only one guard, then? Perhaps one or two of us can distract him on one side of the camp while the others come in the other. Would our bardic friend be able to provide a distraction that didn't cause him to shout out the alarm?" He looks to the newcomer. "If we could get him to step away from the camp, we might be able to knock him out and tie him up."

"Well I can try something to try and grab his attention" She shrugs a little "Only problem is it might grab the attention of more than just the guard. Still no harm in trying I guess."

Juliare |

Guys , I'll do the distracting if you want !
But please , while I aggree the main menace is the boss , the others are still criminals . If I have to kill one to improve our chances of success , he is dead meat . He could have stopped being a bandit before I came upon him , he did not , I won't cry for him .
Let's hit them hard , that's our best chance

Petra Pasmal |

[...]. Let's hit them hard , that's our best chance
OK.
speaking to our prisoner What'your name?If you get into trouble or need help look me up.
You can also contact Father Beamus, he is a friend of ours.
And stay away from the Temple of the Moon.
Petra gives the bandit some info on who Father Beamus is etc.

Clark Freeman |

Yes, Zark, thank you very much.
Clark mulls over the ranger's words. "I'm not a cold-blooded killer, sorry, regardless of what they've done. Or supposedly have done. But I won't stay my hand from attacking, so don't worry about that."
"It appears that my idea is of little merit -- there are at least three guards. It would appear that we have two strong options before us, depending on our desired outcome. This guard lower right on Zark's splendid map is all that prevents us from taking the fight directly to the leaders if we can take him quietly. That would probably mean that we would be fighting the entire bandit camp shortly thereafter unless we could take them out very quickly.
"This guard toward the top of the map is the most isolated and possibly more vulnerable than the other two, so he might be more easily taken out quietly."
I forget - do we know roughly how often they change shifts?

Petra Pasmal |

Excellent. I propose that the rest of us array ourselves in preparation of attacking the hapless gent in the lower right corner, then. With an eye for providing backup if a certain ranger has to beat a hasty retreat.
sounds good. So Juliare will take out the guard at C9 and we stay somewhere close to the guard at P23? How close to P23?
I didn't have the patience to name all the squares in the map, so I just made it like a chessboard with numbers vertical and letters horizontally. I hope that's OK. Do we need letters on both right and left side or it sufficient to have them only one the left side?. I'm just starting to learn how to use Photoshop and I'm not that "computer savvy" ;-)

Well, Clark's not the quiet sort, so he won't be too close until battle's joined, I think. Perhaps a sneakier or less armored someone could get close and start the party.
I see no reason for letters on both sides of the map, myself.

Juliare |

"I would be you a would be about 30 yards away .
Give me 3 minutes to get in position , you'll hear if I miss . "
With this , Juliare move in the forest in order to circle the camp .
He'll try to be as discreet as possible but this is a rough terrain
stealth 14 , sigh
As soon as he has a reasonable shot , he'll take it
Att 14 Damage 9

Clark Freeman |

Hide 1d20-5=-1, Move Silently 1d20-5=12
Clark attempts to sneak to a hiding place about 40' from the guard (within 60', but as soon as he can see the guard -- preferably with a charge lane, if necessary)
To the others:
"You others might see if you can get closer - I don't want to give away your chance of surprising him."

Black Tom |

Juliare moves around in a circle and actually manages to get close enough without being spotted. He gets an arrow off and the guard goes down, about at the same time as the other guards notice Clark. Suddenly the whole camp is in commotion.
Time to roll for initiative, folks.
I'll be assuming that the rest of you follow rather closely behind Clark somewhere unless you have a better idea.

Clark Freeman |

Petra Pasmal |

Petra move 20 ft towards the guard and cast Icicle
Attack and damage: 1d20+1=20 and 1d6+1=6

Clark Freeman |

Without a word, Clark lowers his shoulder and charges at the man, shield leading and sword swinging around at the last moment.
Longsword attack 1d20+7=20, damage 1d8+2=7
Hey, that's respectable, especially for my hapless paladin. His AC will be 15 for this round, however. Anybody going to play our rogue and/or sorcerer?

Juliare |

Juliare shoots at the nearest bandit
Att 11 Damage 7

Black Tom |

Did someone call for a sorcerer? BT, you mind if Kirwen fights out the last bit before he gets retired?
On the contrary. Break a leg. Preferably someone else's.
There are no bandits in sight from where you stand (excepting Clark and Juliare, but you can hear the commotion in the camp, so they will probably appear soon.

Kirwen Wyrmsheart |

Kirwen grins. "Feels like I've been waiting for this my whole life," he growls, before stretching out his arms - now tipped with red-scaled claws - and saying, "Enlarge."
I'll assume I'm somewhere to the south, since I haven't tried to sneak toward the camp yet. Probably a full move away, under the circumstances.

Black Tom |

Petra, Kirwen and Thrakhir advance to take up positions next to Clark.
The bandits on the other hand also take up positions. Two of them take up shortbows and fire at Juliare, while four others fire on the rest of you. Kirwen is hit for 3 points and Thrakhir for 5.
You also hear someone singing and strumming a lute inside the camp. The song seems to be about some valiant bandits that take from the rich and give to the poor and oppressed.
There is also a dwarf in scale mail and brandishing a dwarven waraxe heading your way.
You're up. In any order you like.
The bandits are about 25 feet away and have cover.

Kirwen Wyrmsheart |

Spellcraft check to avoid losing the spell for damage (DC 14) (1d20+5=13)
Suck.
Kirwen roars in pain as the arrow strikes him, and his massive frame stops its growth, shrinking back to his (still formidable) normal proportion. After a moment's vicious swearing, the sorcerer begins his chant again. We'll try that again...
