Hey guys congradulations, I just upgraded you to adventurers, so now you can create adventures yourselves. If you guys stay with it and show dedication I'll move you up to henchlings and you can edit adventures after creation if you think of more monsters or treasure etc. Remember that not every item you get for treasure has to be good, in the cleaning the wastelands adventure that is such an easy chore it only gets you clumps of litter, partially digested items you were looking for earlier, or fertilizer (poo :)). I also think if we have fun with it we can start thinking of creative ways between us to trade in items for rewards etc.

Awesomeness! Out of curiosity, do all of the adventures have to be chore related? For example, could we put one up that has to do with D&D (ex. DMed a Session and Nobody Died)?
I also think if we have fun with it we can start thinking of creative ways between us to trade in items for rewards etc.
I like this idea a lot. I was actually contemplating on spending the 5 GP that I've earned thus far on a suit of padded armor. :p

But I don't think it would be fair to add too many because while it's something we all love doing some of us have more time for it than others, play more than one game a week, play only once a month, play daily by PbP so if we have too many it can unfairly benefit that player. Plus if we add them they should be chore related. Painting miniatures is a good example of a DnD chore that I think I'll go add right now.

That'd be suitably awesome, I'd be up to chipping in a few bucks to do something like that. Wicked idea!

Does anyone know how to set up some kind of paypal account or something we can all donate into and use to upgrade our memberships or purchase rewards etc.?

Hey guys I don't know who posted it, but I want a vote on whether or not to retire the Benevolent DM adventure, to me, it's not fair to players who are members of our group but don't DM and it also might contradict a persons playstyle, also it isn't really a chore since it has more to do with the dice and willingness to fudge than work to prevent it. For me it would be easy to never have a player die because all dice rolls are hidden.
By the way we have an awesome party so far, two sorcerors, a barbarian, a paladin, and a peasant (or commoner if you prefer)

I agree, I'd also say drop Massacre Master as well, those both seem kinda unfair to me.

Also, a bit of curiosity on my part, but why is the "Painting the Armies Armor" chore listed twice?
EDIT: I s'pose I should also mention that I was the one who posted the Benevolent/Massacre Master quests. At the time I figured they'd be a good idea but looking back on it I agree that neither fit. Something more akin to 'play an entire session of D&D and have fun with your friends' would have been much more fitting as it'd allow everyone to partake.

Well if you are the one who made it then I can go ahead and retire them, also once again, while D&D related have fun with gamers shouldn't be an adventure cause it isn't something we have to go out of our way to do, like miniature painting or prep work. While
It's listed twice because of some kind of glitch caused by accidentally double clicking post this adventure. I can't retire one cause every time I try to edit it the site says I can't have two adventures of the same name.

I signed my older kids up, so now we need to add heroic quests for making the beds, cleaning their rooms, and feeding the cat.
If you've signed yourself up, I can make you an adventurer so that you can add chores as you see fit.
Edit also, how old are your children, cause I have been sprinkling in adult humor here and there?

I have signed myself up. My kids are 11, 8, and 5, but I will be the one recording all of their quests for them. They will just be seeing when their character gets stuff.

Oh okay then that's a relief cause while its not impossible to leave it out, I figure most of us don't mind the occasional reward of "get me some" or other similar in vien silly adult humor. I'll also edit your membership, Are you the one that just says david?

I picked tomatoes today... and did some homework are there any adventures that would work for those?
Also saturday i'm doing the farmers market (6 hours). Can anyone think of a general way to put that in?
and would i get 360 XP for that? :P
Isn't famers market a job, I mean if I can claim my job this'll get silly fast. I can add a gardening chore to the Wilderness, sucks though cause not all of us have gardens. Still That is a major chore. Oh I edited your entry I added two pieces of treasure I think you'll appreciate and a gold reward since I shortened the xp earned (for some of us that's a really easy chore so while it sounds like you are on a farm and should get more xp for those of us with a cat or dog only that would rack up xp too easily)

Well i did get taken away from work to go do the farmers market, and i'm not getting anything for it...
Yeah i'm on a farm... goats cats & dogs chickens the 6 cows... lotsa 'hard' labor
Any ideas on the homework front?

I haven't thought up anything that wouldn't unfairly benefit you for the farmer's market thing, but I did add an adventure for picking produce so you can go get that XP,
There's a homework front? what's the homework front?

No, he was feeding his hermit crabs and got attacked by a wild boar, you can't make that up :P
He just has a competative edge because he gets a sugar momma and we all have to work and go to school.

Hey Guys, just wanted to let you know what's up, I removed two chores from the list, mainly because they were too generic and didn't actually in some instances require any work. The first was for a romantic night in, since it didn't specify what was required I could just say that any night my wife and I stay at home and say i love you or have sex as a romantic night in. Also that doesn't allow for people who aren't in a relationship to complete it. With the night out, it was vague enough that you could take your mother out and tell her you appreciate all she does for you, with the romantic night in, that doesn't really work. The other was helping the queen. Since in most instances helping the queen means doing chores or assisting her in chores you can just make an adventure for the chore that was being done and get the XP, also if you helped your "queen" make the bed then you can just double up XP for two quests. Also once again, if a guy is single and lives alone what queen can he help. Not really fair to him. Since we all live in seperate places the quests need to be open enough that anyone can complete them. That was why I added farmers market to the picking the fruit of the gods, that way people who live in apartments can participate etc.
EDIT: okay guys, I put helping the queen back up because of the fact that children are on the game and they sometimes just do little things to help where able and I don't want them left out. So I'm just going to ask that the adults don't use help the queen okay?

Yup, exactly. I spend all day doing nothing but running kids around, doing chores and fixing stuff around the house. I usually have 2-3 things going at any time and I start at 6 am and do stuff until around 8pm with a few breaks here and there to post. Let's just count me as an 'Elminster' or something. The super NPC of the party. Don't even count me in the competition because it isn't really fair.....But I am loving this 'game', it's cool to track what I did in a day. Today was a particularly busy day though, I usually only get days like this once every couple weeks. Usually 3-4 chores is about it a day.

Just a comment, but the Seeking ancient knowledge task seems too easy. I mean, I read for a minimum of 90 minutes a day (from a printed source), so I could go ahead and claim that for the last 7 days as well. just something to consider.
edit: possible change consideration: make it 30 minutes from a non-fiction book. this would represent an actual gain in knowledge.

I agree, it is a little easy, especially with the classes I take at school. (so even non-fiction is easy) I have no suggestions though.
