A look at Star Pact Warlocks. Featuring a new Paragon Path, the Seudent of Caiphon, a new Epic Destiny, the Radiant One. Also new spells and new feats
Warlocks sometimes seize arcane power by swearing pacts to questionable entities beyond the world. Such shortcuts are sometimes judged foolhardy by lore-wise wizards who spend years studying their way to mastery. The star pact connects its follower to what many believe are simple stars, though others describe them as horrific monsters. Do star pact warlocks swear their oaths to simple stars, to unfathomable entities of the Far Realm -- or are these oaths given to a terrible combination of the two? When you wish upon a star, horrifying dreams may follow.
The cold, brilliant, and utterly strange stars are a source of power for a select and rare breed of individuals: star pact warlocks. They reach out to the lightless space between the stars -- some say to the Far Realm beyond -- seeking power where few dare to dream. "Wish Upon a Star" presents new options for these daring warlocks, including several feats, powers, a paragon path, and even an epic destiny.

I'm not really sure what your point here is.
Not a big fan of the fluff you've posted here.
LOL!
He doesn't have a point, dude. It's just a copy and paste from D&D.com. There's a new article up about Star Pact warlocks, and Lazaro is letting everyone know. It's a public service he provides.

Nope, never checked the link out - I still think its lousy fluff and I did suspect that it was official fluff. That does not make it good fluff. I like the Star Pact Warlock in the sense that I like what it does but this fluff is very wishy washy. They've made a pact with the Far Realm, why bother beating around the bush on that? I think they should dive into that concept head first as opposed to doing fluff that seems to be constantly hedging their bets. Making deals with unfathomable Aliens is a cool concept - making deals with lights in the sky blows chunks (IMO).

To each their own. I'm a giant Lovecraft fan, and this is profoundly Lovecraftian -- I love it.
And part of the point is that the stars aren't just lights in the sky -- and Star Pact Warlocks know this.

Ahh - well then this is probably what I'm missing. I've never actually read Lovecraft. I can believe that if one has then this is powerful stuff. However without Lovecraft this really does not read that well.

His point is simple. Lazaro is kindly reposting the links to the new Dragon and Dungeon articals for those of us who can't check the WotC boards at work, and giving us a topic to dicuss.

Well to each their own, but please don't make it sound like Lazaro should stop posting. He's been preforming a great service to those of us intrested in the material coming out in the DDI.

I actually found this a very cool article, with some very neat fluff. There seemed to be slight balance issues with some of the feats and other elements, but I expect most of that to be fixed in the end-of-month compilation.
For myself, it definitely got my imagination spinning - I'm now planning on playing a Warforged Warlock who claims to be powered by the sun. Is he telling the truth, and simply a well-designed solar-powered machine... or is there actually something lurking in the heart of the life-bringing orb?
Only time will tell. ;)

This is a pretty awesome idea, the whole wraforged thing. definately got me thinking of new ways to spin this idea.

"Hail, mighty light dot! Send me your mystical power of dotness, that I might vanquish mine enemies with your brilliance -- err, dimness... No, no, that's not right..."
Hehe. "OBEY THE DOT! THE DOT COMMANDS IT!" my warlock npc is totally going to be spouting this at everyone he starts bashing with his mace.

I fully intend to steal this idea. Awesome.
