Pathfinder Society Minneapolis / St. Paul

Local Play

Shadow Lodge 5/5

I'm curious if anybody has started up any events or has plans to start up events in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area.

I'm not super-keen on not getting to play, but if I don't hear of anything soon I may just suck it up and pick up the DM Mantle at my FLGS (Universe Games if anybody is interested). Maybe I can convince members of my current regular group to rotate with me if there's no chance I'll get to participate.

Silver Crusade

I'm possibly interested in playing, and I might might even DM at my FLGS (The Source).

I am a long time DM thinking about starting a gaming group meeting on Sunday nights. Most likely it will be every 2-3 weeks at my house (don't like to travel with the minis).

I currently run a monthly Saturday game in the Dragonlance setting and I want to run through one of the pathfinder chronicles campaign arcs.

I currently have one player and possibly a second already lined up so I only need two more players.

Interested?

I'm probably interested, but I want to check a couple thing: A) you are talking about the Pathfinder Society (the organized play, not the flagship adventure paths), and B that you live someplace in the general metro area.

Thanks

I'm in the Minneapolis area and would be interested in knowing what people might be running. I have some friends looking for a game as well. I currently run a Savage Tide game and Rise of the Runelords campaign so I have a pretty good idea of what happens in those adventures. Feel free to e-mail me at jasonej at hotmail.com with info. I will however be a booked until after the Renaissance Festival is over (end of September).

I wasn't aware that the Pathfinder Society is what it is. I'm just looking to run a game group not necessarily get involved in the whole organized play thing. I guess I could be convinced otherwise. I was planning on running the Rise of the Runelords campaign arc.

Oh and I live in New Hope...NW of Minneapolis.

(Sure. Get all of this started after I leave the Twin cities.)

I wasn't particularly clear (I was hoping its placement on the PFS boards would be a tell of what I was referring to).

My question is specifically about the Pathfinder Society. I unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it) am involved in three other groups and really can't dedicate my time to another campaign.

So I'll clarify. I was wondering if anybody is planning on DMing for the Pathfinder Society in the metro area (The Source is obviously likely THE spot for many of us). If no DMs start showing up, I might go in with a friend of mine and we'd rotate Play/DM just to get the ball rolling in the area.

I posted here before, but I guess it didn't show up. I would be interested in playing in The Pathfinder Society, or even just a home game whatever. I live in St. Paul, fairly close to The Source. I'm not sure if I would want to DM or not, but I'm certainly looking for a gaming group to join.

After reading through the Pathfinder guide to organized play I don't think I'm Lawful enough of a person to DM in such a ridgid set of rules. It is a very intriguing concept but I still don't see what DM's get out of the deal other than they can see their players rise in the factions.

That being said...I will stop posting to this board and if anyone is interested in a standard role playing group on Sunday nights, e-mail me at mspencer999@hotmail.com.

It's starting to look likely that I might be able to DM some Pathfinder Society, but it will probably be a a couple of weeks before I'm able to put anything together. I'll keep you posted.

Any luck or thoughts on this? I'd be interested if things are looking positive.

I'd be available for any given Sat or Sun with a modicum of notice. Why don't we pick a date and manage the list from here; I'd be fine to DM if needed. Who is our guru of organized play (in terms of reporting, rules, standards. etc.)

Sorry it took a while, but I've checked with The Source and with Paizo, and it looks pretty easy to run some Society games. I ran Silent Tide at Gencon, so I'll volunteer to run that as a first adventure, and maybe we can rotate after that.

Who's still interested in this, and what weekends coming up might work?

I am still interested as is a colleague of mine (and a member of my standing gaming group. We're both up with the idea of rotating DM duties so everybody gets a chance to play. Unfortunately, the two of us have already played through Silent Tide. I have played through Frozen Fingers (he did not), so I would be willing to take that one as my first module to DM.

Where would we want to play? (Source is a good choice, but there are tons of other local gaming shops). I am available most weekends with a little notice (this upcoming weekend of October 4/5 and at least one day of the weekend of the 11/12 are out for me).

I'm terrible at organizing things though, so please contact the both of us if you're setting things up:

Another update. I'm looking at kicking things off either the 18th or 19th (Sat and Sun) of October (two weeks from today). Probably playing Frozen Fingers if MisterSlanky still is able to DM. If your interested you can contact me at matthew at matthewjhanson dot com.

(Or just post here).

has anything happened with PFS in the twin cities area?

i'm down in eau claire, and i run a couple of PFS game days a month down here, and would love to be able to play every now and again, if there's anything happening up in the cities...

Scarab Sages

A bunch of friends and I here in the Twin Cities are starting up a Pathfinder campaign this weekend...I'll mention this thread to them and see if there's any interest.

I'm still around and interested as well, but everything seemed to fall through last year. My small group of regulars were thinking of getting things started again, but it's hard to figure out a good way to get people we don't know together.

I have my regular gaming group who are interested in more standard Pathfinder stuff (APs and the like), an extended group which may be interested in PFS, and a group I'm in conversations with regarding strictly running games.

we had our first unfortunate death this week. A witch who was totally out of her element bit the big one against a ghoul. When a ghoul gets an evil eye, it tends to see in the future and anticipates when the witch would be at its most vulernable.

Alas, we mourn the witch who chose to fight in the front lines and sacraficed herself for the betterment of the party against a TPK.

On a side note, I see no reason that PFS6 should be retired. It was an enjoyable module with a conclusion that ties up loose ends nicely. Please save this one!

For those who wish to attend the next PFS event in Minneapolis, We will be holding the event on the 21st of November at the Fantasy Flight Center in Roseville. We already have two tables reserved and we are looking to expand.

In fact, the Fantasy Flight folks who bring you games like Arkham Horror, Game of Thrones, Battlestar Galactica, Talisman, and Warhammer (among others) is really going out of their way to suppport Paizo and their society games. They have given us leeway to expand to as many tables we need to support Pathfinder.

Please leave messages here or with Mister Slanky direct about your interest. He has an advert up with Paizo's game locater service on Paizo.com.

A selfish plug, JRR Martin will be at the FFEC during the Game of Thrones demo a week before our PFS event. Hang out and enjoy the fun.
