This is cool stuff; I remember reading something similar in Popular Science earlier in the year. If I remember, though, one issue to using it to hide actual humans was that if the material bent all light waves around it, it would blind the person(s) being concealed (i.e. no light reaching the person's eyes).

As far as military applications are concerned, I think this will result in both increased civilian casualties and 'friendly fire' incidents. If the opposing force is 'invisible', fireball is the weapon of choice, right?
