New Spell Scrolls

3.5/d20/OGL

I have a level 5 wizard with full pockets from a recent adventure. He would love to buy some new scrolls to learn some new spells but I got a problem. A lot of the spells I want are from books other than the PHB and therefore are not listed in the scroll list in the DMG. My question is how do i figure out the cost of the new scrolls? I have noticed most scrolls of the same level cost the same except for those that don't. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check out the Scribe Scroll feat entry in the Player's Handbook. It gives all the pricing information you'll need for making your own scrolls. You can also use the entry to find out how much just buying a scroll costs (it'd be spell level X caster level X 25 gp).

Here's a link to the SRD with the relevant feat (and pricing info):

Good luck.

The disparity between the normal scroll costs and the more expensive scrolls at the same spell level is due to XP components and expensive material components.

In some cases one has to know the class of the scroll scriber, as some spells are at a different level for different classes and therefore their costs differ. One example is the spell Neutralise Poison: Cleric 4, but Druid 3 (not to mention Paladin 4, Ranger 3, and the arcane version Bard 4).
