Zork

Sovereign Court

I was looking to play the original Zork game after a discussion in the favourite video games thread, and managed to find all three (!) games freely available to download HERE.

If anyone is in the mood for some old school adventurin', you're not going to get more old school than this!

Question to anyone who might remember, was Zork or Adventure the first adventure game?

As for me, I've explored a small house, found an elven sword and slew a troll with it, and am currently exploring a cavern complex beneath this house! Still lots of exploring to do, it seems!

I believe Adventure, but don't quote me.

Flash is correct. Adventure predates Zork.

Once you have the egg from up the tree in the forest, you open the window and climb into the house. This leads you to the kitchen. Upstairs is dark, but there is a torch in the next room. Move the rug and there is a trap door leading down into **Dun, Dun, Duuuuun!**... The Great Underground Empire!!!
