I think I'll go on keeping initiative loosely for now, so you can still post in any order. So far Ka'kara, Hella and Roylenna have posted actions. Still waiting for Sandros, Proteus and Rana.

And in case you're wondering, Ka'kara and the goblins are about 40 feet down the corridor.

Male Human (Alryan) Cleric 3

Black Tom, since I haven't given positions on the goblins, I took the liberty of placing them myself. If you have any adjustments, just let me know.

Proteus moves into one of the rooms and attacks a goblin.

Blessed sap attack against a goblin (1d20+3=7, 1d6+3=5).

Updated map.

Trying to get back on track: I believe Sandros, Proteus, and Roylenna are within the first room, Ka'kara has charged down the hallway into the dark, and Rana and Hella are facing a goblin in the doorway to the south archers' room. Is that about right? Assuming it is...

Oh, and I believe Roylenna goes after the goblins:

** spoiler omitted **

Ka'kara has her everburning torch Roylenna, so the area is lit. In case you want to do something else.

The two foremost goblins facing Ka'kara would have been in 3816 and 3819, so that they all could fire without cover. That means that Ka'kara would be in 3717. Otherwise their positions look just fine. Thanks.

And true, Roylenna doesn't need to illuminate the room, so if you change your mind, that's fine with me. Let's just see what Sandros and Rana do.

I am assuming you meant 4816 and 4819. Adjustment made to map.

Fair enough, but I think I will leave things as they are. Thanks, though.

Sorry, was waiting on a map to see what my options were.

Sandros shouts, "Rana! Help Ka'kara, and try not to kill her! Ka'kara, try not to kill Rana!" as he runs into the hall, then ducks around the corner as he spots Proteus.

Move to 3915 and attack the goblin in 3814.

Ka'kara yells back over her shoulder, "I'll try, but it's hard to tell him and the goblins apart. Oh right, he's the one with two-swords."

Female Halfling Sorcerer (celestial)

So, just curious - how high are the ceilings in here?

Next round:

Spoiler:
Assuming no overwhelming change of situation, Roylenna will hustle down the hallway to get into range with Ka'kara's current foes 20' move to 4418 and use her Heavenly Fire on a likely target 4918, based on current positions.

I move to 4718 in a charge and attack the goblin in 4819

Shortsword 1d20+6=26 Damage 1d6+3=9 possible crit

Crit check 1d20+6=7 denied! feeling your pain on this one Sandros :P

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

Ka'kara and Rana each mow down a goblin. The two remaining ones look at each other briefly before running away screaming.

Proteus and Sandros are not so lucky. Their weapons bounce off the goblins' armor. Proteus takes a hit for 1 point of damage.

Hella wounds her foe but he still stands, waving his morningstar ineffectually, while his comrade tries to tumble past Hella but fails miserably, drawing an AoO and getting stuck in 4019.

I believe the apt phrase for a warrior who can't get past a halfling girl would be something like: "Don't quit your day job." Or whatever you Americans say.

You are up. Hit them roughly.

Oh, and the ceiling height in the corridor isn't much more than 10 feet, but it increases to 15 feet in the room where Ka'kara and Rana are standing.

Heh. It's like you're having a Big Mac with us right now!

Sandros leaps backward, then slips forward again Acrobatics to get to 3813 without an AoO.

Acrobatics (1d20+9=11)
Whoops. Guess I shouldn't quit mine either... I still move, right, but provoke the AoO?

Assuming I do...
Once he gets into position, he makes another try at the goblin that avoided him once before.
Rapier attack (1d20+8=23, damage 1d6+2=5)

Female Halfling Sorcerer (celestial)

I didn't think I was going to get in tonight...

Black Tom:

Spoiler:
Since Rana has moved into the lane of fire, I think Roylenna will be better off staying closer to home and aiding Hella. She will use her Heavenly Fire on one of Hella's foes.

Male Human (Alryan) Cleric 3

Proteus swings his sap at the goblin who is obviously distracted by Sandros' less than graceful movement. But, the goblin turns sensing the threat and he dodges the blow.

Attack the goblin (1d20+3=10, 1d6+2=5)

You know, I can't hit with either character. IC $!@&$.

Updated map. Threw in the end of the hall since between Ka'kara's everburning torch and/or Royl's dancing lights it should be visible.

Female Human Barbarian 7

Ka'kara whirls. Seeing the halflings with their hands full she runs back and takes a swing at Hella's opponent.

Blessed greatsword charge: 1d20+9=24, 2d6+8=14 or a 22 to hit if she couldn't charge. She'd end up in 4018

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

Sandros narrowly avoids the goblin's morningstar and stabs it in the stomach, leaving it clutching the wound, disabled. Ka'kara doubles back and kills the wounded goblin next to Hella. Proteus is distracted by Sandros's maneuver and the moment to strike passes.

Roylenna zaps the remaining goblin with her fire. Attack roll?

Hella and Rana are up.

The fleeing goblins are at 5617 and 5618, nervously scrabbling at the door.

Female Halfling Rogue 2

Oooh, Barbarian Ninja'd!

Stunned at the comical display of ineptitude by the goblin, Hella is slow to react:

AoO w/ Blessed MW Dagger: 1d20+8=11

Oh well.

Seeing Ka'kara drop the goblin in front of her, Hella tumbles forward into the room (to 3920):

Acrobatics: 1d20+11=30

and stabs for the other goblins neck:
Blessed MW Dagger attack: 1d20+8=17
small dagger damage: 1d3=1

...stinging him with a nasty shaving cut.

With pleasure

With his boot Rana removes the goblin he has just slain from his shortsword, it falls to the floor with a wet thud. As quietly as he can (stealth=1d20+2=5) ,which isn't that quiet since he's charging, he closes the distance on the two fleeing goblins. He aims what he hopes is a killing blow at one of the goblins as it tries to tear its way through the door.

Shortsword 1d20+7=14; 1d6+3=9
I only added +1 for the charge for the roll on IC so I added another +1 on the back end

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

Hella stings her opponent slightly, while Rana fails to get any purchase on his foe. Roylenna's fire misses by far.

The remaining goblins strike back, hitting Hella for 4 points, missing Sandros.

The goblins jerk the doors open, revealing a huge chamber, crawling with goblins. Then they turn their attention to Rana. One of them hits him for 4 points of damage.

You're up. This just got interesting.

"Run and live!" snaps Sandros at the one he has just stabbed, before turning his attention to its ally.

Blessed rapier attack (1d20+9=14, damage 1d6+2=3)

Lousy rolls... at least I remembered the bless this time. If the disabled one chooses to flee in such a way as to provoke an AoO, Sandros wil forgo the attack.

Female Human Barbarian 7

Stepping forward to 3918 Ka'kara swings her blade only to have it connect with the doorframe, stopping just an inch from it's intended target.

To hit: 1d20+7=12, 2d6+8=12

At least you can get flank now Hella.

Female Halfling Rogue 2

Hella sidesteps to her right (4020) and stabs for the goblins gall bladder:

Flanking Blessed MW Dagger: 1d20+9=27

SA damage: 1d3+1d6=3

Sheesh, near minimum damage again.

Doh! I was sure I'd posted that information in the first attempt to anticipate my turn... so I assume I missed last turn and this is for this turn, right?

Heavenly Fire attack 1d20+5=16, damage 1d6+1=6

Forgot to include Bless - does that improve both attack and damage?

Male Human (Alryan) Cleric 3

Proteus maneuvers around Sandros to aid him by attacking the other goblin with his sap. The goblin gets an arm in the way of Proteus' swing, deflecting it.

Attacking the goblin. (1d20+3=6, 1d6+2=4)

I took the liberty of rolling for you and you missed. Bless only improves the attack.

The goblin facing Hella goes down smoking, while the on facing Sandros and Proteus fights on. The disabled one is in no condition to run, so he just crawls into a corner and looks miserable.

Rana is up. The goblins beyond the door are getting ready to swarm him. There are many of them but not all are ready for combat - yet.

Male Human Fighter 1 (Two Weapon Archetype)

From the description it soulnds like the door opens outward, in which case I want to kick the door shut and bar it if possible. If I can't bar it I'll hold the door for as long as I can

"Elfling stop playing around and get your skinny butt over here! We're about to have company!" Blood dripping from his wounds Rana throws his weight against the door hoping to stave off the gathering hoard of goblins.

Back to the door Rana kicks one the goblins still in the room.

Solid boot to the head! 1d20+3=23; 1d3+3=4
I couldn't remember the penalties for improvised weapons but since IC rolled me a natural 20 I don't think it matters too much :) BT feel free to modify anything here. I know I posted a lot of actions but if its the difference between barring the door and kicking the goblin or maybe I kick the goblin first and then close the door, etc. I leave it in your capable hands.

btw I'm down to my last hp. just thought I'd put that out there

Have the goblins gone already, or are they about to?

Female Human Barbarian 7
Sandros Highmount wrote:

I think they are about too.

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

Since the goblins are between Rana and the door (which incidentally is a double door) trying to close it would provoke an AoO from both goblins. I took the liberty of confirming Rana's threat roll, so the goblin crumples.

The other goblin takes a swing and misses, and then hell breaks loose, as goblins swarm over Rana, who is hit for 5 points of damage and drops to the floor, overrun by goblins. He manages to slash one passing him by, though, felling it. Sandros is hit for another 3.

There are now goblins in 5517, 5617, 5618 (standing over Rana) and 5718. 4019 is dead and 3714 and 3715 have traded places.

You're up.

Female Halfling Rogue 2

With the last goblin in the room dropped and now hearing the commotion from down the hall to the east, Hella sheaths her dagger and draws her crossbow as she quietly steps up to the doorway (3919).

Stealth: 1d20+13=26

Female Human Barbarian 7

Ka'kara watches as the goblin in front of her immolates. Flashing a smile to Roylenna, "Nice work Lenna." Whirling around she catches a glimpse of the goblins swarming over Rana, "Sandros! Proteus! Stop playing around with that goblin and get out here! Rana has fallen!" With a Tharbrian battlecry she charges the goblins (a full 80' feet to 5518). The greatsword cleanly cleaves through the goblin standing over Rana. (the one in 5618) She pulls back the bloody greatsword glowering at the remaining three goblins here.

To hit: 1d20+9=25, 2d6+8=18

That brings me to -4 hp

I lose more characters this way :)

Don't blame me, blame IC!

Sandros releases a string of Elvish obscenities, but he merely tries to finish off the goblin in front of him.

Blessed rapier attack (1d20+9=20, damage 1d6+2=4)

Regardless of the result Sandros then turns and runs toward the end of the hallway, hoping to stand alongside Ka'kara to break the oncoming wave of goblins.

Male Human (Alryan) Cleric 3

Not sure of the result of Sandros' attack, so Proteus will do one of two things depending on the status of the other goblin.

If goblin still stands...

Proteus takes a step up and tries to deal with the final goblin.

Attack the goblin (1d20+3=13, 1d6+2=6)

If the goblin no longer stands, Proteus hurries out the door to help his allies [ooc]moving to 4817.

Updated map.

Female Halfling Sorcerer (celestial)

BT, I'm lost, so please insert this where you feel appropriate.

EDIT: Ninja'd by Proteus!

Spoiler:

Roylenna makes a little self-satisfied nod at the goblin's demise and Ka'kara's congratulations, then realizes what's happening at the end of the hallway by her Dancing Lights. Unless the room around Rana is completely overrun with goblins, the halfling sorceress makes a double move toward the double doors to 4818. She still has the scroll of Color Spray in hand.

Blasted short-range spells, anyway.

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

Sorry about the delay. I got confused myself. The room is indeed overrun with goblins, so I don't know if Roylenna wants to run all the way to 4818. I guess not. Just state your position.

Please remove the goblin in 5619. Other than that, the map is accurate.

Ka'kara chops down another goblin, while Sandros and Roylenna rush to the rescue. Proteus is still dealing with the last, wounded goblin and Hella is hiding behind the door.

The goblin currently in 5418 is dead, so the goblins move to 5416, 5417, 5418 and 5318. Five new goblins appear in 5419, 5517, 5519, 5617 and 5618.

The goblins advance on Ka'kara, trying to overwhelm her while new goblins keep pouring in. One of them makes a move as to give Rana the coup de grace, but then a hoarse voice rings out in Goblin:

Spoiler:
"Lay off him! He's mine!"
and he thinks better of it.

Ka'kara is struck on the knee with a morningstar for 5 points of damage.

You're up again.

Female Halfling Rogue 2

Hella steps around the corner from the doorway (4018). Hearing all the commotion up ahead, she is somewhat surprised to not see several goblins already rushing down the long hallway, but she takes a shot down the hallway anyway (at goblin in 5318, being careful not to hit K):

Alas, without sneak attack, seeing as how there aren't any goblins within 30 feet.

Crossbow attack: 1d20+6-4=6

...unfortunately Hella overcompensates and the shot goes wide right.

Female Halfling Rogue 2

Looking over to her friends she says, "Well, that didn't help much. But for what it's worth, I'll be right behind you, Sandros." She is already beginning to sling her crossbow and her right hand is moving to draw her dagger. Hella will be performing these actions during her next turn.

Roylenna cannot be the vanguard, no. I withdraw the previous post, thank you very much.

Roylenna shouts to Ka'kara, "Ka'kara, grab Rana and run! We are too spread out!" Then she steps to 4118 and she will ready an action to cast Grease on 4517, 4617, 4518, 4618. The trigger is if three goblins enter the 10' wide portion of the hallway. She wants to let Ka'kara past, but she knows the barbarian can probably jump the spell's effect if she must. If the rest of the party heads east past the target point, she won't cast the spell at all.

Ka'kara shakes her head in frustration, "I can't get to him there are to many!" Feeling the impact and then dull ache from her knee she realizes that the vermin will soon over run and pass her. Deciding that Rana is lost she can still defend those that still stand. Spitting at them she turns on her heel and runs back to stand side by side with Sandros bleeding from multiple wounds. She gives Lenna a pained look and mouths, "I'm sorry" before turning and facing her little tormentors again.

She double moves back to Sandros. I believe that leaves an aoo for the one goblin that was next to me.

Seeing Ka'kara having to abandon Rana makes Roylenna's heart ache. No! Not again! Her readied action is still in place, but she shouts to Hella in Goblin, "They've opened the doors, let in the wolves before they escape!"

I could be wrong, but I don't think this should've provoked an attack of opportunity. According to pg 139, withdrawing allows you to move double your speed and still not provoke an attack of opportunity from visible combatants when moving out of the square in which you start.

That is quite possible. I just took it for granted. Now I can't tell from the updated map. But if Ka'kara's first 5 feet put her out of reach of the goblins, please disregard the last attack.

Well, I think the placement of the goblins on the map is slightly erroneous as there was a goblin in 5318 when I ran away. I guess she could have run away by going to 5216 to start with, thus avoiding all attacks of opportunity. I was a little confused on everythings placement. But yes, as things stand now on the map no aoo would have been possible.

Yes, that's what I think too, so no AoO.

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

To push things along, I'll just assume that Sandros readies an action to stab a goblin as they come. It looks sensible enough to me.

The goblins look a bit hesitant at Roylenna's threat of wolves, but then the hoarse voice rings out again: in Goblin

Spoiler:
"Don't just stand there! You're supposed to be warriors. Kill them all!"

Now you can actually see the goblin that is speaking. He is tall for a goblin, almost 4½ feet tall, and dressed in black, with a helmet sporting a pair of ram's horns. He crouches over Rana's prone form and utters some kind of dark magic. Rana shudders and the goblin looks disappointed.

Meanwhile, the goblins charge. Roylenna's spell goes off, creating a pile of prone goblins in 4517, 4518 and 4618. Only in 4517 is one left standing. Other goblins come to a halt in 4717, 4718, 4817 and 4818. More keep streaming out of the door, and the black-clad goblin points to Rana and runs his hand across his throat, an unmistakeable gesture.

You're up, Roylenna going last.

Female Halfling Rogue 2

Hella takes a shot the only goblin to remain on his feet (4517):

Crossbow attack: 1d20+6=10

piercing the ceiling above him and sprinkling down onto him.

In Goblin:

Spoiler:
"That was a warning shot. Don't come any closer.
