Can she tell how long ago the wolves were killed?
We just came in the western exit, right? So only one way to go.
The wolves were killed a few days ago, not much longer, and by the smell, not much sooner either. The gore trail leads back to the room you're coming from, so they were probably killed there.
Actually the passage twists, so you came in from the north. There are two exits to choose from.

Well, east seems as good as any way, so she'll stick with that.

Well, that's unfortunate.
Sandros' hand dives into his belt pouch for a strip of leather. He says, "Tirith ogollor," as a flicker of energy shimmers around him for a moment; he then whips out his rapier while shouting, "Proteus! Do you have that acid protection spell still?"
Cast mage armor, then draw rapier. Any sign of whether the dragon is still wounded from last time?

Startled to see the dragon appear so suddenly Ka'kara takes a moment to react, flies into a rage, and charges the little beastie. If it's in charge range. If not than there are always javelins.

The enlarged and enraged Ka'kara charges at the dragon, which seems to be entirely unhurt. Even more strange, her mighty blow which should have been enough to chop its head off just passes through harmlessly, and the dragon doesn't even react.

Ka'kara throws her head back and her giantess form suddenly roars in laughter, "You had me little goblin!" She takes the flat of her giant sword and scoots him into view of the rest of the group. With her other hand she picks up the little stick and tosses it to Roylenna, "Lenna, he was using this."
Anything else around the area he was at? Hehe, I swallowed that one, hook, line, and sinker....
Black Tom
The dragon suddenly vanishes and in its place there is a sallow-faced little goblin dressed in tattered robes that is herded by Ka'kara into the room where the rest of you are standing.
Ka'kara:
"Mercy, goodsirs" the goblin croaks. Unfortunately that seems to be all the Common he knows, but he answers to Goblin or Draconic.

Roylenna translates for anyone that doesn't know Goblin and asks,
In Goblin:
"If you can use this, you must have some other skills. What else can you do?"
Black Tom
Since Roylenna will be translating...
"This is his lair. I don't know why he chose it. It's spacious and easily defended. And he likes to terrorize everything that moves and a lot of things move around here.
Me, I know some magic tricks, but nothing that would work on the dragon."
Roylenna Brenoien
In Goblin, "Gilby, when was the last time you saw the dragon? And tell me about your magic tricks -- I like magic tricks! Can you show me the dragon's lair? My friends and I will protect you -- we have unfinished business with the dragon."
This lair that he refers to - is this another room that we haven't investigated yet? I'm up for checking it out if that's the case.
Black Tom
Heh, it's difficult to keep track of time when you're cooped up in a dungeon. Or when you're a DM who works too much, which amounts to the same thing, really.
Gilby is a bit unsure, but it was at least several hours since he saw the dragon. He fell asleep for a while there. The dragon's lair is where he kept his treasure, which is where you came from. He doesn't know much about the rest of the dungeon.
"Magic tricks, eh? Well, I don't know many, but I can make magical mist and make wounds stop bleeding. That can be useful, you know."

Ka'kara is speechless for a moment, "That does it, little sister, I'm going to put a tattoo of a goblin somewhere you don't want it!" However, she is unable to hold her stern look for long in the face of Roylenna's exuberance. "Ok, well I guess you should see if our new friend wants to pack up his belongings." After that is taken care of she begins to head in the other direction the western exit. "Does he know what lies down this way?"
Black Tom
The goblin says that to the west is just an empty cave, with no way out. The exit is past the dragon's cave. That's where he and his party came in looking for loot and finding swift death instead. Familiar story, eh? He alone was spared because the dragon found him useful to guard the cave with the wand when it was out. Also it liked having someone around to bully.

After taking a quick look around both east and west caves Ka'kara shrugs and says, "I guess we can bo check out the western exit from the dragons lair now."
Roylenna Brenoien
Gilby grins uncertainly. "I guess you wouldn't consider letting me go? Just checking."
Roylenna stops short. In Draconic, she says, "Let you go? I didn't know you had somewhere to go! You don't have to travel with us if you don't want to." She looks at Sandros, "Does he?"
Returning to Gilby, "But where is it you want to go?"

Sandros doesn't answer immediately, waiting to see what the goblin says in response to Roylenna's question.

Gilby shrugs. "Anywhere but here would be an improvement."
"Oh! Well, then, we're all set! You can travel with us until we find that place! Or at least until we are a little farther from the dragon's lair." She adds, "As far as we know, the beast is not dead, so I'd hate to leave you to your own devices and have him find you again."
Sandros Highmount
"We don't make enemies of those who don't make enemies of us, Gilby," Sandros adds. "If you want to go, you're free to do so. Just remember - we also tend to be extremely... thorough... in dealing with those who do make enemies of us. We are, after all, the ones who beat back the dragon. Stay with us, if you wish to be an ally - leave in peace, if you'd prefer to go your own way. Just don't cross us."

Black Tom wrote:Gilby looks at you, incredulous. "An ally, you say? Does that mean I get a share in the loot? What are you doing here anyway?""We're looking for a human man, a man named Fenton. He may be trapped in this complex somewhere. Have you heard of him?"
"Can't say that the name rings any bell. Zemfer (that's the dragon) ate a couple of humans a few days ago, but I never caught their names."
"Is there a reward for him?"
Black Tom
Realizing that there is no profit to be gained searching for Fenton, Gilby bids you goodbye and good luck. As you continue down the corridor you notice a charnel smell, that gets stronger until you're actually able to see into the room, where a half-dozen rats the size of dogs cease their meal of dead gnoll and rush at you, gory teeth bared.
Roll for initiative.
Just needed to shake you guys up a little. ;-)

Do I still have Gilby's wand?
From it's effect, I presume it's safe to assume that it is a wand of Silent Image. Does Roylenna know the command word? If that hasn't been shared, she will ask it of Gilby before he departs.

Yeah, Gilby gave you the command word.
I'll give Hella the weekend to post an initiative before pushing on.

Half a dozen dire rats, yes? As much fun as charging forward and getting myself surrounded sounds...
Sandros lifts his rapier, staring down the rats as they charge. As soon as the first is in range, he stabs out, the blade seeking blood.
Readying an attack on the first one to approach within his weapon range - no movement.
Readied rapier attack, with Power Attack (1d20+6=21, damage 1d6+4=10)
Ka'kara Furyheart
As the fangs sink into her flesh she lets out a scream of rage as she brings down her blade.....
Raging greatsword attack: 1d20+9=15, 2d6+12=19

Hope everyone's cool with a little PC substitution...
Jiro attempts to tumble past the fighters to flank one of the rats, if possible. Acrobatics 1d20+7=14 Uh-oh, don't think that's good enough.
If he is able to attack, he will do so. Unarmed Strike attack 1d20+3=22, damage 1d6-1=3
