Male Sorcerer # 1

Ah OK ?
I would like to play a sort of foreigner, I intially thought to an elf or gnome, but if you prefer human, can I play an exotic (but credible) human ? It excludes glenvoran, lochgolan, shorven, hugel or orgun... maybe a tandoori, or taïpan, or another human race from faraway country ?

Allright, that gives us four confirmed players.

After consideration, i wouldn't want a fully non-human group.
Eldon's halfling rogue is ok, as i dont want him to change his character over.
I think Whitleyrr's dwarf is fine, but the others two should be humans.

A local human, for me, a priest or some kind of healer, i/e : a spell caster with the healing sphere + knowledges about herbs plants and all that stuffs.

A pilgrim/healer could be fine, as long as he is at least able to defend himself.

Any suggesttions Sel ?

Male Elf Rogue

Before getting any further into character creation, i would like to be sure we have a sufficient group.
Although Grimdaragh and Lieben (two of my regular players) are welcome, the point of this is to gather some paizonites.
And so far we have only two confirmed among them. I don't think that's enough.
I would like one or two more players for this to be worth it...

Any volunteers ?

Male Sorcerer # 1

paizonite ? Interesting neologism....

So, I've got a character idea that I've used as character background in video games before, but because that medium isn't conducive to true role-playing and exploring a character's nuances, I think I'd like to try it here. But I want to fit it into the world that Seldriss uses, and since I don't know much about that, I'll need some help/advice.

My character's names is Samson Oathbreaker. Now, somewhat obviously, that is not his given last name, but a moniker which he's earned through the action it describes.

Essentially, he's been kicked out of whatever dwarven community into which he was born. I haven't fleshed out the details of what kind of an oath he took which he broke before, but my idea of it is that is is a fairly serious one, but one which he broke for what he (at least at the time) considered to be the greater good - whether his personal greater good, the greater good of someone else, or the greater good of his clan, I've no idea. Now, he's out in the world, still convinced that he was right (and he may have been) and doesn't particularly seek to rejoin the community of his birth and rearing. But, he is known by the members of that community and if he encounters them in his travels somewhere they would definitely have a reaction of some kind to meeting him, whether good or bad I guess would depend on: first, what he did, and second, what they thought of it.

Anyway, that's the general idea. How does that fit in with Seldriss' world? Any ideas on which community he was a part of and what kind of oath he may have broken?

Uhuhuhu!
Don't worry samson background is a generic enough one I think it would fit with Aanheim.

but well Seldriss, may I explain to him, how risky is his choice?
;-)

Ohhh, risky!? I think I like the sound of that...do explain!

well, to summarise the thing, let's say that in Seldriss mind :
Dwarf et bloody filthy little scums are synonymous.

For an unknown reason he just hate dwarves.

exciting isn't it?
:-)

Male Elf Rogue

I protest against such a fallacious statement !

I don't hate dwarves, and i don't consider them as scum.
I just despise them, as the vermin they are.

And i don't take any pleasure in slaughtering them.
I just do the world a favor wiping them out like roaches.

Male Elf Rogue

Still looking for one or more players...

male Duergar ranger #5 thief #5 bloodhound #2

Yep!

But as many DM Seldriss got a twisted mind.
So for unknown reasons, my two favorite and highest level characters, played mainly under Sel mastery, are dwarves.

Well, this is the mystery of DM mind.
:-)

Male Sorcerer # 1

it seems that we lost the two previous volunteers...

Male Elf Rogue

(bump)
Still looking for more players...

As i said, the point of this is mainly to gather paizonites.
Having two of my regular players is a nice addition, but i want a core group of at least four paizonites.
If we don't get any other player, i will have to drop this project.
I'll wait until this week-end...

male Duergar ranger #5 thief #5 bloodhound #2

No way to broadcast a second call for volunteers?

Male Elf Rogue

Well, that's the point of bumping this thread...

What does "bump" mean?

Male Elf Rogue

To "bump" a thread in a forum is to make it bounce, to post as often as possible in it, to keep it visible among the recent threads.
Without that it would sink and would not appear anymore, and eventually die.

Male Sorcerer # 1

Instead of using "Bump", I suggest "Sbamf"....
it seems to me that it's important.... ;-)

male Duergar ranger #5 thief #5 bloodhound #2

I have some inclination to prefer Shazam!

Male Elf Rogue

Bumpity bumpity bump

(still looking for more players)

Still hoping for new players here.
By the way Sel, don't you have to re-create a thread in here :

A place for game masters to create play-by-post campaigns. Recruit players in the Gamer Connection forum, and post out-of-game commentary about play-by-post campaigns in the Play-by-Post Discussion forum.

because you are bumping a thread located Here :

This is the place for out-of-game commentary on campaigns in the Play-by-Post forum.

Where I don't think that freqquent messages will attract attention.

Am I right or wrong?

Male Elf Rogue

You're wrong.
The Play by Post category is for the running PbP games.
The Play by Post Discussion is for the talks between GMs and players about PbP, either in process or in preparation.
Initially i created this thread in the first, so i asked to move it in the second, which is appropriate.

This being said, apprently we don't have any other candidates, so it seems this thing will be cancelled.

You are sure?

Because it says :
Recruit players in the Gamer Connection forum

Wouldn't it be more logic to make an add again in that place?

My 2 cents

Male Elf Rogue

The Gamer Connection forums are more for players to meet and organize real games, around tables. Well, that's the way i see it.

Male Halfling Rogue/1

Are we able to get enough people together?

Male Elf Rogue

Nope Eldon.
We only have two Paizo players, you and Samson. This is not enough, i was planning on a bigger group.
So i guess it won't happen.
Sorry...

Male Halfling Rogue/1

Why not post "Seldriss PlaybyPost" under Gamer Connection? People are more likley to look there for a PBP. Don't move this thread, but instead start another, asking for two more players. (A thread displaying "PBP" with only 1 post will get more viewers and potential players than this one)

Male Elf Rogue

All right.
I gave it a chance during the week, but it's time to close this.
It won't happen.

Sorry and thank you for your time, all...

Male Halfling Rogue/1

Damn, oh well. See you around the messageboards Sel.

Male Sorcerer # 1

see you everybody...
