It's not that DC is perfect, but Marvel seems to be the king of the hill of trying to fix one bad idea with an even worse idea (my head nearly exploded when I read about this "One More Day" story in Spider-man). So with that in mind, could someone tell me if my guess is right, and that this "Secret Invasion" thing is just a way of explaining off some of the stupidity done to the Marvel Universe in the last few years by saying it's all the fault of Skrull agents disguised as humans (and whatnot)?

Secret Invasion has been a great read so far---delivering the goods on all fronts. It may not have the "cosmic significance" of Final Crisis but it has splashy story and character moments, two things sadly lacking in DC's handling of their characters. I'm not a Marvel Zombie but Bendis & Co. know what their characters are about and they aren't afraid to put them through their paces.
DC under Didio is an editorial train wreck. From the One Year Later jump that promised much but delivered little (such as the "less grim" Batman), a forced creation of diverse legacy heroes (who almost never stick and are always reverted back to their original identities), the mega-flop (creatively) that was Countdown, and their plummeting sales, DC is at their lowest creative point since the early 80s.

I haven't read comics since the late 90's at that point it got so ridiculous I couldn't do it anymore. I'm sticking to my theory that everyone's a skrull. Everyone... even the writers.
LOVE the avatar and the name, Pookachan. And you really arent missing anything in terms of american comics, truth be told...There are a few bright spots, but not so many that you should feel badly by skipping out.
That said, check out Kick-Ass. It's a GREAT comic. Y the Last Man, the Kenzerco D&D comics, and the Hedge Knight are all wonderful comics as well.

Damn. I mean I couldn't picture her alive after the undead Avengers arc, but still...
