Pact Boon clarification?

4th Edition

I'm having a bit of trouble understanding the fey pact boon, Misty Step.

In particular, when is it invoked? The other boons are useable when the target of a Warlock's Curse drops to 0 hp, but I can't find explicit language to that effect for Misty Step.

Can anyone point me to the specific wording?

Page 130...I think they should have reversed the 2 paragraphs under the Misty Step to make it less confusing.

The actual power is:
When an enemy under your Warlock's curse is reduced to 0 hit points or fewer, you can immediately teleport 3 squares as a free action.

The flavour text (which they put first to confuzzle it all) states:
You instantly transform into silver mist that streams a short distance and reforms, allowing you to flee or maneuver to set up a deadly attack.

Yeah, its the last paragraph under Fey Pact: as soon as the cursed target is dropped, you can immediately teleport as a free action.

Thanks.

I missed that bit every time I read the page -- how embarrassing :(

Lol, I know the feeling. It's strange how, after a bit of text is skipped, on future readthroughs we will skip it again, and again the third time. Is it the nature of the text, or of the reader, that fault lies?

Or maybe I have a bit too much time to ponder on this. :P

Happens to me all the time :/

I have to write various types of documents all the time. I get it set in my mind what I think is there, rather than what is actually written -- it makes proofreading difficult.

Oh heck! I missed the XP table on pg. 120 like FIVE TIMES. Had to have someone here point me towards it.

DUH!

My Mom used to love Pact Boon. Quite a singer in his day.

What? Oh.

Nevermind.
