I'd say he was threadcrapping if no one agreed with him. I sorta do agree with him, to an extent of course. I'm sure it was playtested heavily, I just don't agree with the motivations of the playtest and gameplay which sacrificed a ton of what made D&D what it's always been for 30+ years and reset everything it was back to Zero.
I maintain that there is a lot of the spirit of BECMI D&D in 4E.
Exactly - it's just plain unhelpful. I haven't looked into multiclassing to have come up with house rules myself but someone has suggested giving the Warlock multiclass the Warlock's curse instead of one of the other abilities.
The dude's question was "does someone have houserules for multiclassing and the results of said houserules"
saying "the multiclassing in 4e are crap, and not play tested and unbalanced and no fun and kicked my cat"
is threadcrapping, it doesn't address the question at hand. It doesn't matter if everyone agrees with him.
As for the op, I would suggest allowing unlimited multiclassing feats.I mean if you look at what a character is in 4 its powers skills and feats and the
One thing to remember is the multiclassing feats are strictly better than other feats (why take Skill Training in a skill which a multiclass feat offers?) which is one reason you are limited to only one. Probably not TOO unbalancing to allow unlimited choice, but something to keep in mind.

The Warlock Multi-Class Feat doesn't give you the Curse right, most Warlock Paragon Paths work off the Warlock Curse. Correct me if I am wrong. Please help me understand this.

Currently Warlock PPs aren't that useful since you don't gain a Warlock's Curse via Multiclassing. Likewise, you can't qualify for any Ranger PPs because the Ranger Multiclass doesn't give you the Archery/TWF style. You can house rule these if they bother you that much (I've seen several suggestions that the Warlock Multiclass give Curse instead of a Pact Power) or hope that future supplements add alternate Multiclass Feats to allow for a pick of different class abilities.

I think creating new base classes (like the Swordmage) will be more 4E's style, but only time will tell.

Possibly. It seems to me that 3E wasn't really meant to extend the base classes. I think the original intent was future classes/archetypes to be handled via new PrCs, which was indeed the case for the longest time (Psionics maybe being the one exception). It was only in the last two years or so of 3E that you really started seeing splat after splat with new base classes.
4E seems to be built around the idea of new base classes, with around 8 or so planned per year, so hopefully the bloat won't be as bad.
