Male Human Inquisitor 1

Initiative (1d20+1=7)
How many lizardfolk are there?

Desperately searching for a path away from the plant creature and lizardfolk, Nbulu prays to Shimye-Magalla to bolster his companion and himself. Cast bless: +1 to attack rolls and to saving throws against fear effects. After casting his spell, Nbulu takes up his staff and prepares to defend himself.

Liberty's Edge

Male. Forest gnome. Druid 4.

Larkspring sees the commotion above him, and decides that everyone needs to just calm down and let him get up there.
He mutters under his breath, "Why do I have such short legs? I want to see that plant!"
How far up the slope is everyone else?
"Seromem!"
The grass and plants under the feet of the lizard men, the Mwangi, and the plant (or whatever is its analog of feet) suddenly grow and wrap around the ankles of everyone there. Those that cannot reach a creature waver, ready to attack.
Spell:

Spoiler:
Entangle, lasts 4 minutes or until dismissed, the radius can be planted as far away as 560 feet, and the radius is 40 feet. The Reflex save DC is 14.

After casting his spell, Larkspring continues to climb up the rope.

Fir also notices the fight, and looks at Larkspring for reassurance before running up the hill.
Climb check: 1d20+4=18. Fir spends his entire round climbing up the hill.

Sorry for the delay!

Initiative (1d20+7=10)

Seeing the shambling plant-thing lurch out of the cave, Triska fires two arrows at it in quick succession.
Arrow 1 (1d20+6=15), damage (1d8+3=10), Arrow 2 (1d20+6=7), damage (1d8+3=9) Grrr! +1 to hit and damage if within 30 feet.

"Remember we should try to find this -thing- the captain needs on the plant creature!" she reminds her friends, as she draws new arrows.

Female Celadrin Warlock 3

Sabriel looks back and forth between the three new groups in play on the scene and decides that of the three, the one with what appears to be a spellcaster is the most dangerous.
She turns her gaze upon the Lizardfolk Shaman and releases a burst of Fiery anger.

Fiery Gaze at Lizardfolk Shaman (Ranged Touch Attack). (1d20+4=18)
Damage. (4d6=15)

Init Order:

Triska

Lark
Shamen
Sabriel
Lizardfolk warriors
Mound

1 mobile plant mass, 3 lizardfolk warrior types and 1 lizardfolk shamen! Nbulu and Ban'utu are at 60 feet(At the top of the falls), Triska, Lark and Fir at 30ish feet(Between the landing and first switchback) and Sabriel at 45 feet(At the first switchback where it forks, either up and over to the trail(60 ft) leading to the cave and the native boys or straight along a lower shelf(40 ft) that runs parallel to the upper trail once one's climbed up to it!) If you roll a crit go ahead and confirm right away in your post to keep things moving along. I'll take care of it this time!

Checking to see if his friend is ok, Lark nods to go ahead, Fir races off up the falls following the trail for easier going. He has no problem with his massive muscles and claws helping him keep his balance. He reaches within twenty feet of the Lizardfolk, growling at them a monsterous threat. After racing out of the cave followed by a monsterous plant creature, Ban'utu turns and fires off an arrow from his bow. It sinks in to the plant mass causing the plant to quiver and shake about not happy with the intrusion to its mass. From below two arrows quickly pass by you and the plant missing everyone on the shelf outside the cave. Triska utters a curse at her luck and shouts about how they need the plant so be careful. Ban'utu drops his bow and draws his sword ready for closer combant soon. Seeing the predicament him and his friend are in between to foes, Nbulu calls for help from his god which is granted giving them added strength to somehow get out of this situation. He then grabs up his staff but is immediately wrapped up in a mass of tangled roots and grass around his feet not allowing him to move from where he stands. Somehow Ban'utu manages to excape the threatening vegitation. The massive mound however has the same problem as Nbulu held in place. It shakes in silent fury as it tries to get closer to its prey and dinner. The lizardfolk also have the same problem as roots, grasses and other vegitation wrap around their legs distracting them from those below and the others on the same ledge. Seeing the lizardfolk all busy with some trick Lark pulled out of his hat Sabriel fires off one of her fiery blasts at the shamen who is focused on freeing itself for the moment hoping to hurt the leader quickly and take him out of the fight. A ray of pure fire shoots out of Sabriel's hand and smacks directly into the shamen's chest almost knocking him back but the plants hold in place. He seems shakey from the blast but gazes at Sabriel who will be his target real soon.....

Next Round! Roll attacks and state your actions!

Male Human Inquisitor 1

Nbulu curses as the vegetation wraps around him and holds him in place. He tries to break free...

Nbulu uses a full-round action attempting a DC 20 Escape Artist check to break free from the entangling vegetation(1d20+1)=14

...to no avail.

Male Human Mwangi (Zenj) Ranger 4

Ban!utu steps up and swings his falchion at the entangled mound, shouting to his Mwangi brother in polygot(what is this thing?).

Falchion attack on mound (1d20+9=11, 2d4+4=9)
and a new reflex save
reflex save for spell again (1d20+7=17)

Male Human Inquisitor 1

Hold up! Nbulu's Travel Domain grants him freedom of movement for up to 1 round/level/day (so, 3 rounds) regardless of magical effects that impede movement. Therefore, Nbulu is not entangled (yet).

Nbulu attempts to move 30 ft away from the plant creature and lizardfolk (and hopefully out of the effect of the entangle spell) without provoking AoOs. After taking his move action, Nbulu will cast Spritual Weapon on the plant creature. A starknife made of pure force springs into existence and attacks the plant creature.
To Hit (1d20+3)=17, Damage (1d8+1)=9.

Liberty's Edge

Male. Forest gnome. Druid 4.

Sorry about the spell, guys, but Larkspring doesn't know you yet (and he wanted to stop the lizard men from attacking)
Larkspring mutters to himself, "Senpenich innir," as he climbs the path.

Spoiler:
Larkspring casts longstrider, which gives him a +10 feet bonus to his base speed. With encumbrance, his speed is now 20 feet. The spell lasts 4 more hours, and takes a standard action to cast. It only works on his base land speed, however, so if he continues to have to use Climb to advance it will have no real benefit (1/4 of 15 feet is the same as 1/4 of 20 feet). Since he has a rope and a slope (rhyme unintended), would the DC lower any?
Larkspring acceleratedly climbs, with an extra -5 to his check: 1d20-10=-4.
Balance check: 1d20-3=4. If he makes his Climb check, does he have to worry about Balance? If not, then Larkspring's screwed (again).
Knowledge (nature) check to identify the mound: 1d20+10=21.

Fir continues to climb as fast as he can without endangering himself.
Let me know when he reaches any of the newcomers.
Climb check: 1d20+4=7.
Balance check: 1d20 1=9.

Female Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 2/Ranger 2

"Are we attacking the plant or the lizard-men?" Triska asks Sabriel. "We should focus our attacks on the greatest danger!" She scrambles a little farther up the slope (5-ft. step, if possible) and fires two more arrows at the plant creature.
Point Blank: Arrow 1 (1d20+7=19), damage (1d8+4=9), Arrow 2 (1d20+7=8), damage (1d8+4=10) Why is my second arrow always a natural 1?

Sabriel makes sure Larkspring is alright in his climb, before firing off a Bolt of Eldritch Energy at the Lizardfolk Shaman.

"Try not to kill all of the lizard men! I want to find out more about them and this place!" Larkspring shouts up to Sabriel. "And don't attack the humans, they don't look very dangerous. Do you have any holding-like abilities? Or maybe something to make the lizard men less hostile?"

Oh, and the entangle lasts 3 minutes and 54 seconds longer.

Liberty's Edge

Fir takes a moment to see how his little buddy is doing slowly climbing up the trail with help from Sabriel's rope. He looks back at the tangled lizardfolk and rushes forth to attack(From last post he is 20 feet away from them so go ahead and add his attack in for this round if you want too unless you have another action for him!). Up on top facing the plant creature, Ban'utu swings his falchion at it and somehow misses finding only dirt and rock. He shifts keeping himself free of the plants trying to entangle him as he finishes off his attack which probably caused him to miss. Below Triska steps forward to get a better shot at the ones above and fires off two of her arrows at the plant creature, both go flying by her intended target unfortunately. Her mind comes across some latent information, a name, shamblers, carnivorous plants. Up top Nbulu mind comes up with the same information as he faces the rotting vegetation trying to eat him. He shouts out a quick spell aimed at the plant creature, a starknife forms before him and shoots straight for the creature slicing off dead vegetation as it flies by. The little one continues to have difficulty climbing as his mind focuses on the new spell he thinks will help him reach the fight faster. He mutters off the spell and feels the effects instantly making his stride a little easier with the help of the rope. He finally ends up next to Sabriel huffing and puffing but the trail ahead looks to be harder, meaning steeper but this part seems to have less obstacles to hinder movement. He also comes up with the name shamblers as he tries to catch his breath. The shamen somehow frees himself from the pesky vines trying to hold him in place. He quickly begins chanting and points down at the trespassers, a cone of searing flame shoots forth from it's fingertips aimed in Sabriels direction.Lark and Sabriel, make reflex save for 1/2 damage or take the full 7 hps dam). As the fire comes down onto Sabriel she attemps to send some of her eldritch might at the shamen again to end its career as a holy one to whatever cursed god it worships. Her blast hits it in the chest sending it flying back against the falls and then slips into one of the small steams of the falls. The lizardfolk spend the next moments trying to free themselves from the dreaded plants entangling their limbs as does the plant creature, its dead vegetation fighting against the live vines and grasses.

Next round, state your actions and roll your attacks! Go ahead and post Fir's attack for this round and the new one!

Male Human Inquisitor 1

"(It's a shambler, a carnivorous plant!)" Nbulu shouts to Ban!utu in polyglot.

Nbulu's spiritual weapon starknife continues to attack the shambler:
(1d20+7)=12, Damage (1d8+1)=5.

Oops! I forgot last time that the spiritual weapon uses my base attack bonus plus my Wisdom modifier as its attack bonus! Plus I forgot to add in the +1 from the bless spell! Maybe I'll get it all straight by the time the battle is over.

Nbulu moves another 30 feet away from the shambler and lizardfolk, drawing his longbow and an arrow as he moves out of the area of the entangle spell. This uses a 2nd round of his freedom of movement, and should definitely take him out of the radius of the entangle spell. Nbulu turns and fires upon the shambler once he is out of the entangling vegetation.
(1d20+5)=17, Damage (1d8)=4.

Male Human Mwangi (Zenj) Ranger 4

Ban!utu swings his falchion again at the overgrown shrub then decides he may be better off shooting this thing from a distance and moves back to retrieve his bow and get out of reach.

Falchion attack on mound (1d20+9=19, 2d4+4=6) does he happen to flank with the spiritual weapon, if so add 2 to the attack?

reflex save (1d20+7=22)

Female Celadrin Warlock 3

Reflex Save. (1d20+4=17) I'm assuming that made it? You didn't give a DC.

Sabriel avoids the worst of the fire sent her way, thanks to both her quick reflexes and eldritch heritage.
seeing the Shaman fall and the remaining Lizardfolk still trapped, she now turns her attention towards the next biggest threat in her estimation, the Plant Creature. She once again sends a bolt of arcane energy streaking towards it.
Eldritch Blast (Ranged Touch Attack) at the Plant Creature. (1d20+4=18) Add +1 if we laos gain the benefit of the Bless. I'm not sure if we would as we're not yet considered allies.
Eldritch Damage. (2d6=6)

Female Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 2/Ranger 2

"It's a shambler," Triska tells her companions. "I'm sure fire will hurt it, but it may also harm the creature we are supposed to retrieve." She throws Sabriel a pointed look. "I have no idea if my arrows will even hurt it. If I can ever hit the gods-cursed thing," she adds with a grimace as she draws two more arrows and launches them at the shambler again.

Point Blank: Arrow 1 (1d20+7=10), damage (1d8+4=5), Arrow 2 (1d20+7=14), damage (1d8+4=8)

Liberty's Edge

Fir attacks the plant creature with all of his weapons claws and razor sharp teeth. His attacks some how miss the plant seconds ago so he tries again to tear into the thing. His claws manage to miss the mobile plant but his great maw clamps down onto the rotting vegitation and rips a good chunk of it away(roll to confirm crit!). Ban'utu manages not to get himself tangled by the vines and roots graspng for his legs, he attacks on the opposite side of the spinning starknife of the plant, again with his falchion cutting into the creature deeply. He steps away and drops his falchion and qucikly moves to pick up his bow thinking it might be better to be away from the creature. As he does this more arrows from below from the female warrioress fly by hitting nothing but water and rock. The starknife swoops in for another attack at the creature whoose vegitation is shaking from the last attacks it recieved which makes the flying starknife miss its target. Nbulu moving as far as he can go on the narrow ledge away from the shabbler and lizards his back smacks into rocks blocking the trail end. He draws his bow back but his elbow smacks the rocks also causing his shot to go wide. Both Sabriel and Lark feel the flames all around them from the shamen's spell causing them to duck down avoiding most of the fire's flames, both are hot as some of their skin blisters mildly. Lark attempts to return the favor and spats out a spell at the shamen whose body is quickly decending down the falls at a rapid pace, Lark not relizing the shamen was already passed from Sabriel's spell. He continues to make his way slowly up the falls leaving Sabriel where she stands. Sabriel changes targets and fires at the mound that is causing the two natives problems but her blast streaks by heading off into the distant sky. The three lizard warriors pull and fight the vines and roots wrapped around their legs and spend all their energy doing so when they see their leader fall and side down the falls and into the pool of water below with a giant splash. Two of the three gain their freedom and quickly climb up to the top of the falls wanting out of this bad situation leaving the other to fend for himself. Fully pissed off now by all of the attacks from what should be its dinner the plant lashes out at the closes person it senses, Ban'utu unfortunately. Branches and other rotting plant matter reach out with quickness and power slaming into the native as he reaches down to retrieve his bow(14 hps dam).

Ooooo so close, a few more points(the crit would make it a little closer but still not enough if it succeeds) and the plant would be non-mobile! Next round, roll attacks and state your actions! Check the discussion thread if you haven't already please!

Ooops my bad, should have caught that! I'm very tired but can't sleep for some reason, was typing through blury eyes and overlooked that and it changes things a bit! Its still not dead unless Lark's crit hits! So your touch attack hit and if not it is diffinately dead just from your next attack alone! So lets just say its DEAD! and move on. Two lizardfolk at the crest of the falls and one still trapped in Larks entanglement! Sorry about that Sabriel and everyone! seeing the plant mound shamble no more, Ban!utu retrieves his weapons casts a weary glance at the outsiders and proceeds to start collecting the strange parasite, which the city people will pay so much for, carefully cutting it out and protecting it from the sunlight.

for Zoom and Nbulu:

Spoiler:
so yeah I just went ahead and decided that Ban!utu knows about the arcophage and was up here trying to collect it to sell. I also copied Nbulu on this as I assume also that we were working together. Did my 11 Ref save make it?
Fir's confirm critical: 1d20+1=20, if it hits: 1d6+2=6 (the extra damage).

Larkspring continues climbing as quickly as he can, trying to reach the lizard-man still entangled in the vines before he escapes. Fir strides through the tough plants towards the remaining lizard-man, intending to kill him.

Spoiler:
Larkspring continues climbing (fun!). Climb check: 1d20-5=7. Balance check: 1d20-3=3. If he comes within the radius of the entangle spell, Reflex save: 1d20+3=5. If anyone in the party is within five feet of the reptile, he dismisses the spell.
Larkspring tries to project calm onto Fir through their empathy link, but Fir has learned his trick too well, and continues to try to kill the lizard. Handle animal check (DC 20) to make Fir only knock the lizard out instead of dealing lethal damage: 1d20+12=27.
Fir's Reflex save for this round (I forgot last round, but it shouldn't make much of a difference since the shambler would have already died even if he didn't help): 1d20+4=6 (I guess my luck had to run out eventually). Full-round action to break free and move 20 feet with Strength check: 1d20 4=11 (failed). He's entangled, so he can't move and has a -2 to all attacks and a -4 to Dexterity (effectively 9 now).

It settles down and stops fighting the vines and branches once Sabriel stands over it with her hand aglow. While the negotiations continue between the group and the natives, Lark glances down at the boat, the Captain and Faruq are still in the same positions as they were before the group headed up the cliff face. Watching the swamp for other threats but so far none can be seen. Not looking where he was going for a few seconds Lark slips and falls down again. Triska remains in place with a bow trained on the natives as Lark talks to them but then he falls again ending the conversation......

The two natives stand by the dead shambler discussing what to do about the change of events. The new comers seem to be in great need for the arcophage Nbulu comments back to Ban'utu! Indeed we have traveled far to track this monster down but I think we might benefit if we give it to the outlanders. Their boat down there is powered by this arcophage so maybe we can come to some accord with these strangers? I am tired of being in this dreadful swamp my friend!

Lark slips and falls to the wet ground but with his hand still on the rope he barely touches the ground before gaining some balance. With combat over he is able to totally focus on his footing now and should have no problems gaining the top where the natives are now chatting amongst themselves. Fir sits down in a huff tired of fightng the vines, he waits for his friend to come and help free him out of the mess. Triska and Sabriel remain quiet looking to Larkspring on how best to proceed with the natives. Sabriel is still in front of the lizardffolk keeping an eye on it for anymore fight left in it......
