Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

Hello folks, first-poster here.

I'm from Brazil and I'm a big fan of the work that the Paizo crew have done, which I could only follow through isolated issues of old Dragon and Dungeon magazines, but even those wese hard to find and expensive to say the least (netting the equivalent of 20 dollars).

I really want to get a subscription of the adventure paths and setting material, and to buy older editions. Question is: Is there any possibility of making an international subscription?

Also: Where do I start? GameMastery Modules or Pathfinder?

Note that I'm not talking about electronic versions; those I can't really enjoy reading and use on my games.

Liberty's Edge

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Charter Superscriber; Pathfinder Starfinder Adventure Path, Starfinder Roleplaying Game, Starfinder Society Subscriber

The best I could suggestion for international is to set it to ship once a month, so you can save on shipping.

As for where to start, the Adventure Paths are awesome. I would recommend the Gazetteer, Guide to Korvosa, and Classic Monsters Revisited (basically the Chronicles subscription.)

The Module subscription depends on how much you want one-shot adventures. They do cover areas not in the APs yet. If you go with the APs you'll want to grab Seven Swords of Sin and Conquest of the Bloodsworn Vale.. since they take place near the current Adventure Paths.

Can't comment on the Companions yet, but if they're anything like the two Player Guides we got, awesome.

Scarab Sages

I have an AP subscription delivered to an international address (UK), and it's fine. It costs $7 per issue in shipping, and can technically take up to a month to arrive (though hasn't happened to me yet *touch wood*, everything has arrived within a fortnight of dispatching). If you have multiple subscriptions you can have them dispatched together once a month to save on shipping.

The APs are spectacular, really great stuff, I'm currently waiting for Skinsaw Murders to come back into print so I can complete my collection. It's in the middle of a path right now (book 4 of path 2 is coming out this month) so you may want to wait a couple of months until the 3rd AP starts, then buy backissues of the first two in one bulk purchase to save on shipping if you like what you see. At the moment I'm picking and choosing as far as modules and PF chronicles, though if I could afford it I'd be a superscriber, they're very good. The modules are solid one-shot adventures (and seriously, check out Entombed with the Pharaohs, it's great), the Pathfinder Chronicles are about the Golarion campaign setting, generally they have a high ratio of fluff over crunch and are very well written. I'd second Sir Urza's recommendations of Chronicles books, the Gazetteer gives a very complete overview of the whole setting, and Classic Monsters Revisited and Guide to Korvosa are worth picking up even if you never use them, they're just that entertaining to read.

If you want a short taster of the modules D0: Hollow's Last Hope is available as a free pdf.

Hi there and welcome to the boards!

About subscriptions: Just go to the products section and get the subscription you want. All the subscriptions are month-to-month and they ship everywhere (I get mine to Germany, so Brazil shouldn't be a problem.).

The price for the books is the same regardless of location, just the shipping cost will vary. Get the cheapest shipping and it won't be that bad.

Whether you want GameMastery Modules (name was changed to Pathfinder Modules, by the way) or Pathfinder Adventure Paths depends on whether you want big, connected campaigns with lots of extra setting material and monsters and other cool stuff, or just modules (with somewhat less monsters and cool stuff added).

All Pathfinder subscriptions (Adventue Paths, Modules, Chronicles, Companions) include free PDF versions of the books, which I think is great - they don't replace a proper book, but they are very useful nonetheless (and make for a great preview in the weeks until the books arrive).

I strongly suggest starting with a Pathfinder Adventure Paths subscription - in addition to the free PDFs, they're 30% off, AND, you get the Pathfinder Advantage, which is 15% off all list prices in the paizo shop, for everything except non-Paizo PDFs.

That means that after the subscription kicks in, you can get other subscriptions as well as the older books you missed for a better price. You can even get dice or minis or something with the same rebate.

If you want to order the subscriptions and other stuff at once, enquire (in the customer service part of these forums) how the Pathfinder Advantage and stuff you order at the same time go together, to make sure you won't miss the reduction because of some shenanigans.
