I've been playing Mass Effect for some weeks now and love it. Everytime I play, I envision how easily the fluff (not the crunch) could transfer to d20 Future.
The problem, of course, is the crunch.
The way I see it, the biggest hurdle would be with weapon, armor, and gear enhancements. The next biggest would be in setting up the Geth. The creation of character races shouldn't be too cumbersome. I'm thinking that the easiest way to do this would be to examine the equivalent in currently-existing humanoid races.
Before I begin to tackle this, my big question is - has anyone already attempted this?

Actually it has been fitted to star wars Saga Ive seen, but cant remember where. I thought to do this myself and to be honest it is already done. Use the d20 future stuff as is and just add the fluff, using the psionics as its ME stand in... I mean you have a telepath and battlemind so the 2 types are already done, and races are easy really just make sure you have krogan be tough and stupid, etc...

Giant in the Playground's Forums has atopic on this that has made some headway with the crunch. You might want to check it out.
My issue is the way the powers work. Even the non special effects based ones. Would we have to build new classes or make some of the core classes Tiered? In a related note Spycraft seems to be a more appropriate model for classes than D20Modern.
My thoughts on teh inventory is actually to borrow from the games. Remove existing slots to have module that make up "armor" and have each weapon upgradeable or adjustable.
Really would just be redesigning the character sheet.

Here is the Giant in the Playground link. I also found this link in a thread on either this site or one of the other sites I hang around with a Travel d20 conversion or something like that. In the links page they have links to pdfs of both a Star Wars d6 and Star Wars SAGA based conversion which could also be a good place for you to start.
I have no clue how well any of these rules work, how balanced they are, or anything like that but they look interesting at least. If nothing else the different racial stats can be used in a normal d20 future campaign or something similar.
