Technology questions. Do any sort of firearms or gunpowder exist in Golarian? If so, how common are they and how available is gunpowder? Is it used during war? Are there cannons and bombards? Is gunpowder a quasi-magical substance in Golarian?
Thanks in advance.
Guns do exist in Golarion... but they're pretty much limited to one remote corner of the world. Gunpowder technology has not yet exploded (ha ha) into the world yet. We'll talk a little bit about them in the hardcover... but for the most part they'll be a relatively minor part of the world.
In any event, gunpowder is science in Golarion, not magic. But since magic is easier and more plentiful in the world... there's not really a huge call for gunpowder, basically.

Hmmm. I'm interested by the question of whether the use of blasting powder would go against dwarven mining traditions, if dwarves and the inventers of blasting powder exist in the same part of the world- which is a very big speculation? If Golarion dwarves could get it, would they use it?
I am aware that in a Pathfinder chat such substances have been discussed before, and it was commented on that it was most likely humans who would have invented/discovered gunpowder. I am assuming in the hardcover that it will turn out to have been humans who have indeed invented/discovered it.

Are NPCs going to jump sideways in slow motion, firing dual pistols as the sound "buck buck" shreds the air? And when you pry guns from stiff dead hands on Golarian, do you have to then get them registered with a guild?

Only if you want them to in your campaign.

Humans invented/discovered gunpowder in Golarion. Dwarves are, I suspect, too steeped in tradition to be interested in guns; they'd likely mock guns, in fact. And by not tying guns to dwarves, we keep from being accused of copying World of Warcraft, which is good, since we've already got a fair amount of Warcraft-inspired elements in Golarion (of course, there's a LOT in Warcraft that was inspired by D&D, so it's all good in an incestuous sort of way).

Here's what I want in my campaign.
Aside from feats like 'sideways slo-mo-buck bucking' I want an unjam weapon feat and spell. I'd also like a protection from weapon jam 10' spell.
A feat that allows you to craft bullets on the spot? That could lead to all kinds of specialty bullets. Say my assassin, Sharinda, a werewolf and gun moll for a syndicate operator, needs to get her man out of a well guarded gaol. While transformed she snaps off her own fang, then wraps it in steel sheet and presses it into a shell. She may then snipe a guard from a safe distance, spreading her magical pathogen/curse to great affect.
I also want magic mouth on my bullets so that when they burrow deep into an enemy's chest they either shout, "Die already!" or even worse, just laugh.
What's more... live rounds? Yes please. I want living, malicious projectiles that once inside the body act as rot grubs and burrow towards the still beating heart.
Give me what I want and no one gets hurt, see?

The place where firearms are most prevalent is also near a little dwarven outpost. There is no indication that the dwarves use gunpowder for anything.
