Since August is quickly approaching, I was wondering a bit more about the structure and format of this line. Will they be a larger version of the first two player's guides, or will they contain a more article-centric layout, with multiple sections by different authors? I'd love to see them as the latter, sort of a nouveau-Dragon to complement Pathfinder stepping into Dungeon's shoes.

It'll probably be closer to the latter. I think most of the ones we're building now have 2-3 authors...

Most of these will be two-writer affairs: one who writes 18 pages and one who writes 12 pages. Only the player's guide volumes will have more than two writers, and most of those will be Paizo staffers putting together info nobody else has.
And because I know this question is coming from somewhere: There is currently no way to submit ideas or writing for the Companions. They are all done by commission. I hope that changes in the future, but it probably won't for the first year or so these are around.
