Couple answers..
1) August 2009 Iconics will start using the PRPG builds.
2) If you look between the adventures with the same levels, the stats are the same except for the first couple of GameMastery modules (there was some fan dislikes about feat choices.)
3) Believe they said they'd like to eventually gear the stats of the Iconics to suit the type of adventure their in better, but it's not a priority right now.
4) Eventually they'd like to do a "gallery" of each level for each of them.

Obviously they will go PRPG, and I think I read something about a "gallery," what I was hoping for was that the iconic stat blocks would use an alternate class features or maybe a prestige class once they start appearing in their second PRPG AP
None of the iconics will appear in a second AP until number 4, which is almost a year away, so I don't know if they've even thought that far ahead yet. I think it's a neat idea, but I also like the consistency of having the characters the same, even as they are plopped in and out of different adventures. A well-written adventure shouldn't need the characters to be built specifically for its challenges, so a good test is to run the same characters (as built) through everything.

I can say with 99% assuredness that the answer is nope. The stat blocks are there to be pregen characters for new players (and old).. prestiges and alternate features kind of defeat the purpose.
