4e Wee Jas

4th Edition

I've been trying to keep my head in the sand about 4e developments as much as possible, so I can look at the book with an open mind when it actually comes out. But, I just can't help myself . . . I need to know what information (if any) there is for my favorite of favorite deities out there when it comes to the new edition of DnD.

Have we seen the 4e Wee Jas? Anyone? Anyone? Is she still out there? Someone please tell me yes.

While I'm sure 'ole Jas-y is still alive (undead?) and kicking in Greyhawk, she didn't make it as one of the generic deities in the PH.

However, one of the new deities, the Raven Queen, is a pretty close approximation of her. I think the Queen is more focused on death than on magic, but I don't have access to Worlds and Monsters right now to check.

Cheers! :)

Yah, something to keep in mind is that the generic gods providied in the new PHB are not tied to any one specific setting. In 3rd, they detailed the gods of Greyhawk, which was sort of the assumed setting for 3rd.

There is no specific assumed setting for 4th edition, but a nebulus points of light concept allowing the DM and players to create the world as they adventure. As David said, Wee Jas was not used as a generic death goddess, but since we'll be seeing a 4th edition version of Greyhawk eventually we'll see her return.

Frankly, I'm pleased about that. I disliked the way they kept changing her around to suit the flavor of the month in D&D publishing. In fact, I'm pleased they stopped using the GH pantheon in general, given the way they did the same with a lot of other gods (Heironeous, St. Cuthbert, and Wee Jas were just the worst affected).
