Can a dancing lights spell cast by a lvl 2 bard cause any type of sight condition such as dazzled?

Link to D20srd condition summary page

I ask because last Saturdays game had the bard cast that on the druid goblin in the thistle maze. I voted temporary blindness simply because 4 lights in brightness similar to torches thrust into your eyes would cause some kind of vision impairment. Not to mention it is usually dark in the maze as the ceiling is covered.

Boards seem to be eating more posts than normal lately. grrr

I think all it can do is make light. If you want to cause conditions, use stuff like flare or daze.

You can always rule otherwise, but It might make the spell too powerful for a 0-level spell. But then again, we're not talking about power word kill, so I don't think it would make spellcasters unstoppable powerhouses if you combined light and flare.

Something like this:

Lightflare.
Evocation [Light]Level: Brd 0, Clr 0, Drd 0, Sor/Wiz 0
Components: V, M/DF
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Target: 1 creature or object (see text)
Duration: 10 min./level (D) / 1min (see text)
Saving Throw: Fortitude negates (see text)
Spell Resistance: Yes (see text)

This spell causes an object or point in space to glow like a torch, shedding bright light in a 20-foot radius (and dim light for an additional 20 feet) from the point you specify. The effect is immobile, but it can be cast on a movable object (by touch only). Light taken into an area of magical darkness does not function.

If you cause the light to burst directly in front of a single creature, that creature is dazzled for 1 minute unless it makes a successful Fortitude save. Sightless creatures, as well as creatures already dazzled, are not affected by flare.

A light spell (one with the light descriptor) counters and dispels a darkness spell (one with the darkness descriptor) of an equal or lower level.
Arcane Material Component

A firefly or a piece of phosphorescent moss.

Needs some finetuning, of course, but you get the point.
