Draconic Classes

3.5/d20/OGL

I was wondering what everyone thought was the best class and/or PrC that grants draconic traits. I was thinking that I could take a shape shifter druid and just say that the forms are draconic, but I am not too sure about that. I am also not too fond of losing the 5 base attack bonus ether.

Basically I want the class/es that grant you the most draconic like traits, altering fluff allowed.

So could I get some suggestions?

Races of the Dragon and Dragon Magic have a large number of options for different character classes, not just sorcerers. Feats, Substitutions, and even a LA progression. I'd say check them out if you haven't already.

Yeah, checked them out. I just want a class, I got enough feats to deal with, so please class suggestions.

Without going completely off the deep end, as i have no idea what general concept you have in mind, how about : ...

Sorcerer: many examples of ways to make have a Draconic feel, especially with draconic bloodlines.

Favored Soul: swap celestial focus, for a Draconic fluff overlay. flight/wings, energy resistances, ditch weapon focus for a claw or bite, etc.

Dragon Shaman: fits right off the bat.

be a kobold? *duck*

Use the Dragonblooded or Half-Dragon Template?

play a Dragonblooded Barbarian, pick up Sorcerer1, and go Dragon Disciple?
it gives a lot of melee powerup in raw stats.

I'll throw out more stuff after i see your feedback and reactions.

I agree I think Dragon Shaman is probly the bast way to go.

OK, what I am thinking here is talk to my GM and being an aspect of dragon Druid, with the dragon scale husk effect if I buy the heavy armor prof. at 1st level, otherwise I will have to dip into Fighter at 1st level first. I'm thinking race wise, dragon born-wings. My GM allows multiple 1st level feats through flaws and I would also be allowed to trade my shield proficiency, but only of the starting class. I want claws so Draconic Touched, Draconic Heratage, and Draconic Claws, at the least for the start.

Edit: Forget the dragon scale husk, it just costs too much.

You could always play a crested felldrake (MMII, 2 racial HD, LA +2 from update) and take the dragon shaman class (there is nothing saying a dragon can't take it). Of course you could only do that if you were starting at 4th level (2 racial HD + 2 LA) or higher.
