Quick draw + combat reflexes

3.5/d20/OGL

let's say a fighter has quick draw and combat reflexes.

will using his bow for ranged attacks is provoked with an attack of opportunity/ies be able to switch to a melee weapon (free action) and make as many AoO equal to his dexterity bonus?

thank you

Quick Draw makes drawing a weapon a free action, so you'd have to pull out the melee weapon on your turn. So you can take a full attack with the bow and then draw a melee weapon. And then you'd threaten in case an opponent provoked an AoO. However, if you wanted to use the bow again next turn, you'd have to drop the melee weapon because the bow requires 2 hands.

Oops, one option is to wear spiked gauntlets. You threaten with them, and you can fire a bow while wearing them. No drawing or dropping weapons.

This sentence makes no sense.

What is the question?

If you don't threaten, you can't make an attack of opportunity. The rest is left as an exercise for the OP.
