What WOULD have been the next Adventure Path?

Dungeon Magazine General Discussion

I dont know if anyone ever asked this before. I dont even know if the Paizo guys are allowed to answer it.

Before Curse of the Crimson Throne part 1 even hit shelves we were reading about deadlines for getting Second Darkness together.

This got me thinking. Paizo must have been working on and putting together the 4th Adventure path for Dungeon long before WotC pulled the plug on the magazine.

So what was it going to be about? I know its a big tease to hear about a path that will never be seen..but curiosity is getting to me.

I suspect they were considering and laying the groundwork for Rise of the Runelords. I could be wrong bu with the speed that the Pathfinder products were ready and available I suspect this was what they had planned.

This question has been asked in fact. The next AP was going to prominently feature Giants.

OK the facts are done with - now on to speculation!

I'd have expected to see something that was kind of a sequel to Against the Giants. Not nothing but big dungeons but maybe in the same local. Here things are nearly off the map, territory that Paizo felt it could develop without stepping on the toes of what was being done with Living Greyhawk. Were pretty close to Sasserine and Cauldron as well so there can be tie ins with previous APs.

Heres my guess at the plot line. Small town some where near Geoff needs help. PCs help town interact in the area a bit but soon come to realize that an ancient Suel Wizard is back from hibernation and is plotting to conquer Geoff with the use of the giants living in the mountains west of Geoff. Giants that have a bone to pick with humans as a bunch of high level ones came along and trashed their homes some time back = (lots of tie ins to the Old Against the Giants series).
