The Exchange

In Dragon Magazine August 1986 issue, an article by J.R. Ravitts detailed an assortment of Peasant organizations and Political Movements to deal with the terrible inequalities to be found in the fantasy campaign.

• The Share the Health Movement (Local Healing available by Lottery or Committee)
• The Mines for Men Society (An Anti-Dwarf Miners Movement)
• The Plain Sight Patrol (Opposed to the use of invisibility)
• The Supernatural Sanitation League (A group opposed to the keeping of Waste-producing Monsters)
• The Dumb Animals Controversy (People Opposed to communication with livestock and exploited animals vs People opposed to the exploitation of animals that can be communicated with)
• The Magic Materials Moratorium (Restricting access to Material Spell Components)
• The Halflings Hygiene Backlash (People opposed to barefoot Halflings spreading disease)
• The Spirit of Lysistrata (A woman who led a revolt to put a stop to a war between two city states)
• The Youth For all Movement (Demanding access to Artificial Longevity for Peasants-not just Wizards and Kings)

So lets take a new look at this classic revenge of the Peasants concept and take it a little more seriously (or not). Please feel free to design a new Peasant Organization to keep the PCs inline.
