Check out the cover of the April 2008 Astronomy Magazine. They have a picture of the ALL the universes.

Hmm… I would call this ‘the Multi-verse’. Wow, gamers are way way ahead of scientists.

the "throat" thing kinda creeps me out.

but nice picture. how do they know that?

ARGH!!! Web page problems caused me to repost this..

That Pic is based on String Theory, It is a representaion of 9 Dimensions. There are other possible shapes that was just one.

Here is a Blurb about that pic.

The universe’s extra dimensions are rolled up in a compact shape called a Calabi-Yau manifold, which may have thousands of different configurations. Which one represents our cosmos?

They are using the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) and experitmental Data about the CMB to come up with these shapes..

I love Astronomy Magazine!!!!

Nice pic.

I'll play along and say the universe 'had a beginning'. But, where did the universe begin. We say everything has to exist inside the universe, so where does the universe exist, and specifically where did it begin? This question is unanswerable, and therefore the universe never began -- it has always existed (no beginning and no end.)
