Effan Effluvium |

Raphael stands in wonder. "It's enormous! But, where's the herbs?"
Effan snorts, but says kindly, "Its moss, sir Dadarin, Elderwood moss. Some mosses grow on the north side of the trunk. Some hang like treebeards from the branches."
Effan can't quite get the Chelish accent in Raph's name.

The False DM |

Perception checks and initiative rolls, please. I already rolled for Mrs. Catherine.-1d20+3=6 perception, she acts on Effan's initiative.
This may get ugly.

Effan Effluvium |

Perception, initiative (1d20=12, 1d20=14)

Catharine must really be digging the scratchy tree bark.

Raphael d'Adarrin |

Perception and Initiative (1d20 4=22, 1d20+4=15)
Looks like Raph's wonder-filled eyes are really taking in the sights!

Hozs Ferryman |

Due to the skill and cooperation that is display by those with knowledge in maps, survival and geography the party has no trouble homing in on the location depicted on the map as the spot where the Eldest Tree is supposed to reside.
The sun is starting to drop lower in the sky indicating that it is late in the afternoon when the dense trees and thick brush of the forest gives way, revealing a large grassy clearing. The only object in the grassy clearing is a titanic darkwood tree, at least a couple hundred feet tall, the canopy covers almost the entire clearing with branches like titan arms. The trunk is easily 10 feet across with gnarled roots the thickness of a stout man's waist delving into the soil. Leaves the size of small shields grace the branches and it's trunk is is covered in a rich, blackish bark.
The sight of this tree leaves no doubt in your mind that this is the Eldest Tree.
”ooohhh… don’t tell the boss bout this master…” Hozs is stunned into silence. He walks up to the ancient and places his hand against the bark and begins whispering in awe.
… sucks when your familiar is the bottom of the local food chain. :)
lol though my rat may argue about cats always chasing him...
initiative 11 (9+2), perception 8 (10-2)

The False DM |

tanks boss, i am glad you gave me that one, the last post i left with he was playing with his crossbow. I am waiting to see this play out, noone has got the required spot yet, so it will be a good frist round.
I figured that if I had armor and shields and weapons that I would at least be wearing the shield, but walking around for 8 hours a day with a melee weapon out is a bit much when I could just draw it pretty easily.

The False DM |

Rolling Initiative for Faldor---Initiative 18, Perception 15
Slithering in a snakelike manner, a creature with a dragon-like head and two clawed arms drops from the lower branches of the tree above Mrs. Catharine. Your eye thinks it saw a sickly green mist wafting from it's maw as it pounces on the cat.
1d20 5=24, 1d6 3=4 Bite damage.
1d20 4=11, 1d2 1=3, 1d20 4=13, 1d2 1=3 Claw Attacks as it pounces.
Grapple-1d20 5=23
Total of 7 damage to the flatfooted cat(bite and 1 claw). She's in the negatives.
Effan's feline companion is obscured from view by the strange, draconic creature, before the monster rears up with the bloody and unconcious form of Mrs. Catherine in his toothy maw and stares at the party.

Knowledge Nature or Arcana- DC13
The Eldest Tree area map.
The Creature is currently in H9.
The Party starts in any of these squares. 12-15A, 14B, and 15B & C. Place your PC on your initiative and go.

Effan Effluvium |

The False DM |

A psychic pain ripples through Effan, stirring him to rage. "Drop her, you worm!" he screams while rushing forward to club the creature with his quarterstaff.
Start in A12. The run gets Effan to F9. Damn short legs.
If you wanted you could charge to G10 and attack it this round...just letting you know, it's up to you though.

Hozs Ferryman |

"MRS. CAT THRUN!"
Hozs puts Yip a Yap down and charges at the Tizzy Wurm with his staff.
Starting from 15c charge to H10 (AC -2)knowledge nature 16 [14+2], attack (charge figured in) 17 [14+3] damage 9 [6+3])

Effan Effluvium |

[If you wanted you could charge to G10 and attack it this round...just letting you know, it's up to you though.
Thanks, I'll take you up on that. Effan ends his charge in G10.
Screaming incoherently, Effan flails at the scaly worm, strikingly blindly with his quarterstaff.
Attack roll (1d20+2=3) Ohh, size mods. Is the creature large? That will get me to 5. I guess damage rolls need not apply. Effan's AC is 11 til next turn.

The False DM |

Faldor moves in closer trying to line up a shot with his crossbow.
Faldor double moves to G12.
The serpentine form of the beast rears up as it drops the feline to the ground and it attacks the tall woodsman who struck it. It's jaws clatter against Jaden's fine shield, protecting him from harm and the creature climbs up the tree to get a higher vantage point about five feet up(a 5'step, still in same square but up higher, no AoOs, he has a good climb speed).
Hozs charges and lays a mighty smack upon the beast, a cracking sound can be heard when his staff connects with part of the creature's scaly form.
Keegan tries to close the distance and attack but finds that his companions are blocking any direct line to the draconic foe, preventing him from being able to attack, so he circles around the melee to come in from another angle. You had to double move around a bit to get to I9, next round you can get your attack off(with skirmish) and strike the beast using the previous rolls, which will hit it.
Top of the order.

Raphael d'Adarrin |

On my turn, I will move to I-10 and attack, assuming I can reach the beast from that square.
Raphael continues his approach and, upon reaching a suitable distance from the beast, thrusts his sword at it in hopes of ending the battle.
Attack, Damage: 1d20-1=19, 1d6-1=3

The False DM |

Jaden buries his axe into the creature, severing it's spine cleanly. The creature's grip loosens on the tree and it slowly peels away from the bark, dragging Jaden's axe with it.

Davey Della Rocca sez: "Is it dead?" (In other words: did Keegan make it around the group in time to get in a hit, and if so, what happened?)
Perception: 10 + 5 = 15
10 posts up, the party blocked your charge, you would've gotten to hit in the next round (or as a AOO when the thing went to flee).

Davey Della Rocca sez: "Is it dead?" (In other words: did Keegan make it around the group in time to get in a hit, and if so, what happened?)
Perception: 10 + 5 = 15
No he didn't, the group(including the sorcerer!) had crowded the beast, preventing you from charging in. You would've hit it with an AOO when it fled or on the next round though with those rolls.

Hozs Ferryman |

Hozs panic begins to settle and he rushes to the cat. He attempts to bind her wounds. Then he brings the feline near to the canid and the rest of the party. He summons his ki and again the spiritual hare bounds from his body to the bodies of the party.
perception15 (10+5) heal 8 (3+5). (loses speak with animals for rejuv (3 rounds of fast healing 1.)
"Nice chopping Jaden. Uhmm... Raphael? Is your sword special? Cause it looked like the tizzyworms size was leaking green. Uhmm guys? Isn't that what Laural wants" he asks pointing to some moss in the tree, "hmmm," he points higher in the tree, "and what in the Hollow is that up there?"

Jaden Thorm |

Takeing a page from Raph, Jaden gives his axe a good wip after prying it from the snake's hide. He walks to Hors, feeling the warm glow from his magic, and watchs the cat's skin knit closed again. He gives Hors a good pat on the back.
"Good job Hors, you did well. Effan, i think your kitten will be alright, it was close tho. "

Hozs Ferryman |

No hollow, forms hang in the upper branches. The feline was at -6.
*grin* I meant WTF or more accurately WTH, but was trying to come up with a non-screened word and seeing as we are all from Falcon's HOLLOW... well...*shrug* Cat is better then? (or not bleeding out at least?)

Faldor O'Gistoresh |

Perception:
1d20+2=20
Gathering his wits Faldor finally walks towards the tree, "Hozs I think you are right. This does look to be the stuff we needed..." As his eyes trace Hozs' pointing up into the tree his mouth drops open. "Those look like bodies of somekind."

Cat is good.I think hell works as non-screened.
