Morganst shrugged and slipped away. Finding a dark alley he decided to do what he does best. Hide. From the shadows he wold best be ableto keep an eye out for unpleasantness. Well... more than Keegan anyway.
He circled the area carefully, making sure nobody was sneaking up on them. And to keep the guards from wandering over and causing a fuss. From the sound of things, the search was going well. Morganst just hoped it stayed that way.

1300 posts must mean something eh?! Yeah for Fakey! *cheer*
Thanks! I'm in another PBP that is working on 170+ pages which is just plain nuts and terribly hard to keep up with so 1300 is somewhat dwarfed in my mind by that, but I am really enjoying our group and the whole dynamic we have. Thanks!

Faldor gets hauled out with no trouble. He's like 35lbs!
Hozs holds the rope over his head, Faldor dangling on the end. "Squueek?" he says and Miss Squeeker climbs up the other end. Palm up, Hozs lets go of the rope. When neither side falls Hozs smiles. "Uhmmm... equalbellham!"

I think the black holes threads only made it to 29 or 32 or so.

Jaden puts his gloves on, and picks up the bag carfully
"I think we should take the over to he healer, we might need her knowleage with the poison. I have no idea if touching it will affect us, so Faldor and I will go in and see the healer, and take a shot of her mix, just in case."
The False DM
The bag has been torn up pretty good, probably broke open when tossed in the well, and there doesn't appear to be much left inside the bag. No magic.
In the morning the group heads to Laurel's shop and begins knocking on the door.
"A bit early to be calling on my services, who's there!" a pause as the party answers, "Oh! Well, please come in. What can I help you with?"
When presented with the torn satchel she grabs a couple tools (a set of tin tongs, a silver spoon-like object with a long handle, etc.) and starts examining the bag. "On the shelf over there, anyone who touched the bag should grab one of those vials and drink it down. Better safe than sorry......Ah-ha!" she pulls the tongs out of a fold in leather satchel with a piece of something grasped in it's tin arms "I believe that this is our culprit. Looks like most of this stuff has been lost but at least I can examine this piece." She places the fiberous black piece on a white enameled steel plate and grabs one of the books that are spread about throughout the shop, opens it to a marked page and begins looking back and forth from the book to the piece for several moments. "I am fairly sure that this is indeed a piece of Blackscour fungus. Who would do such a thing?! I will have to speak to the council and have them pay Pastor Penton to purify the well, but that may take a few days. Good thing that people aren't still using that well! So any leads as to who may have done this vile act?"

"Morganst here ~points out the man~ found tracks near the well a few weeks back. Probably kobalds, but we don't know where they come from."

"Bad guys, see. Not like us'ns bad guys, like. The scalykind."
Faldor O'Gistoresh
Faldor begins making a face before he even opens the vial but after taking the dose he brightens up, "For having Rat's tail in it that tasted surprisingly well."
Realizing he was making a fuss over nothing he turns to the others and tries to find a place to jump into the conversation, though with his mind on the taste of the remedy he hasn't heard a thing said by the others.

Jaden smiles at Abe
"When your god teachs you a healing drink, ask for the sweet one. At the very lest the one that knocks you out drunk, might as well enjoy drinking swamp water and rotten rodent tail."
Jaden walks outside past Abe, and sits down to get some air. He looks at Abe's mount/pup and hopes he is not relatied to the worg he is wearing.

Laurel- "Kobolds! I didn't know they were back in the wood. They were driven out a score of years ago and we've seen no trouble of their kind since. Where did you hear about them being involved?"
"The tracks were small and lizardly, but made a someone standing up. Kobolds seemed a likely guess."

Laurel- "Hmmmm, I don't know. Perhaps there could be kobolds about but then it would be hard to figure out where they are and drive them off again without some serious detective work and going over the region with a fine-toothed comb."
Jaden did have a pretty in-depth discussion about the kobolds and their whereabouts with the lizardman last night in the alley.....hint, hint.| therealthom |

Effan's not sure we want to mention the lizardmen. They put their confidence in Jaden. IF he wants to bring them up he can.
Jaden Thorm
Jaden gets his air, pats Leo on the head, and returns to the healer's house, walking in right as Laurel is on the kobolds topic. Jaden looks around and then closes the door with a more then easy thud.
"I do not wish to speak out of turn Laurel, but you should know what i have heard."
Jaden recants the tale he heard from the lizard foke, keeping select details about the lizardmen to a minimal. He explans the king of the kobolds, Merlokrep tested this poison. The plan for the Hydra's Venom would be three times the power of the last. It would take a few weeks for them to harvest the ingredents.

"Yes Hor, that little mutant of a lizard could have been the king's son, it seems to be skilled in some things."
Watching morgantist pace
"It is a small matter, but yes we should make haste to action. It could take us a week as the last time, unless we burn a few night with travel."
"If we are heading in the same way, i will have our raft bought over to the mill, and I will reinforce it and add a few paddels. I think we should decide what we need and be ready to move in the next few days."

Effan scowls. "Will we be able to paddle quickly upstream? Perhaps we should plan on taking the wagon to the lumber camp again. We can march from there straight to the keep."
Hozs Ferryman
Hozs claps his hands in beat to Faldor's stomping. With but a single stomp--and not a very weighty one at at that--he never quite catches the beat and eventually stops.
Jaden could sell the raft though. It's got to be worth something to someone headed downstream.
"Uhmmm... you want to sell logs? in a lumbertown?" *grin*
"Yes let's go to the scaled folk." Hozs scratches his head a bit. "Uhmmm... I am going get a shovel." He scratches his head again "...or a saw."
Keegan Cawley
"I will not be put upon another raft," stamping his foot to add wait to the point.
"We already know where they live. Just look at your map Keegan and tell us the quickest way."
Keegan pulls out his map, walking his fingers across it slowly.
"See... here... to, eh, here. Hmmm. We'll do... that."
Paddling upstream would be a very tiring and time-consuming venture, but you could try to cross the lower part of the wood and try to locate the Lizardfolk town, and cross the stream there to cut your time spent circling the lake if you wished to.
Effan Effluvium
Effan looks across the table at Keegan's Map He strokes his chin thoughtfully.
"If we're going that way, would it make sense to go to the logging camp by River Foam or to Elara's? Could we catch a wagon again to either place?"
Fakey, what do we know about Elara of the halfway house? 1d20=6+3 = 9 for know (local) Apparently Effan doesn't know much.
The False DM
Elara runs a halfway house. It is a sort of orphanage but privately run by a kindly, middle-aged woman. That's about all you know on the subject.
Elara's Half-way House is actually relatively close to the lizardfolks' town, so that would be a good jump off point to find the town and acquire passage across the river to continue to the ruins. You will need to provide a means of transport to the Orphanage though, as no wagons run along that road besides an occasional supply wagon.
Curaigh
Jaden listens to the new plan, and smiles to Keegan.
"Keegan again you save us more on time and planing."and i think the wife's water just broke... wish me luck.
Best of luck! or Congratulations! Depending on how soon you get back to the board
The False DM
You could rent a wagon for a couple weeks and some horses but it would probably be close to the price of buying a big cart and 2 horses.
To hire a cart to drop you at Elara's= 25 gp (8sp per mile + a travel tax for the rest) and the return trip is not included.
To buy a used cart and 2 sway-backed mares= 65 gp and a decent diplomacy roll. They can probably stay with Elara to be tended for a while for a very small fee, until you return for them.
Jaden Thorm
Jaden hears the new plan, and nods in agreement. "I might beable to sell off that raft we used for at lest the cost of the wagon. Hors could you help us with the deal? Your family have dealt with the wagonwrights before."
cost of raft in Stormwrack is 100 gp, so for little tools and lots of no skill in craft boatbuilding, but the dc for a crude raft is only 5, and well-made raft is 10 dc, so it could still be alest some gp on the sell. OH and the water break was only a half break if that makes sence, so not yet but i hope soon...
