Not really a fan of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame; just seems kind of silly to me. But...I am a big RUSH fan. So if a band is going to be inducted into this silly thing, it has to be RUSH.
Not that RUSH even cares. I've read many times that they don't care about awards or appearances (when did you ever see them on tv promoting their album? almost never) It's all about the music man!!!
Still hoping for 2112 sequel.
Madonna and the Dave Clark Five, but not Rush?! Give me a break...
Ah, I've just learned to get over it. The RR HoF is a popularity contest. Rush isn't top 40 enough - not "cool" enough.
Who cares? I'm headed to my second show on the Snakes and Arrows tour in June! 2.5 hours of live Rush makes up for all the Hall of Fame disses in the world. :-)

It has an online petition if you are interested in signing it. From reading the information at the site, I doubt that any of the members of Rush have lost any sleep over not getting inducted. (Alex Lifeson is quoted with some less than kind words for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.)

I know - in the bigger picture - that it doesn't matter. I suppose my resentment comes from the existence of an entity that is supposed to celebrate the best that clearly does not do so.
RUSH meets and surpasses all of the qualifications for induction. The problem is, they did it on their own terms, rather than caving to industry moguls and MTV.
There is also, of course, the little matter of SPIRIT OF RADIO which was in no uncertain terms a big old middle finger to the record producer's cabal.
Actually, Rush and Yes both didn't make it in for the same reason:
The need more cowbell.
