I was wondering if (and how)we would ever get to a January - June and July - December schedule for the adventurer paths, not that I'm complaining.

The way I see it they would either have to publish several issues in one month so they can wrap up one path in December to start the new one in Jan (or June/July of course), or go on hiatus for a couple of months.

I don't like the latter Idea, and I think when the Paizo guys read the former, they'll have a nervous breakdown and all lock themselves in their broom closets or something.

they might decide to do non adventure path material for a few months as filler,

or if they decide to go to 4e they could use the space to update old material in place of the adventure

If they re-worked their publishing schedule like that, then what shiny new stuff could they show at GenCon in August?

That's a serious question, BTW. GenCon is a big deal, and having product unveiled at GenCon goes a long way to building hype for it.

I don't see it being reorganized to be a first half/last half deal. Having the start of a new AP is too good a sales opportunity for GenCon.

I don't see why they'd bother. What would be the point?

We're already trying to catch up to the Feb–July and Aug–Jan schedules we started with; it's tough going! The thought of making up ANOTHER month fills me with the desire to go into seclusion in Alaska, grow a long beard, and hunt bears and tourists with my home-made pipe gun.

BUT: The real reason we're on this schedule is exactly what was mentioned above. Being able to launch a new Adventure Path at Gen Con in August is the key, and that's pretty much what sets our schedule in stone.

A lot of people might not have even looked at Pathfinder if Burnt Offerings hadn't hit so well at GenCon. I know what I heard from people coming back from GenCon excited me. :)

Is there still a GenCon after this year? Or is it going the way of the C.E.S.? I haven't been keeping up on that.

Yes there will be. The GenCon organization is in a bit of trouble for sponsoring a failed event, but even if it retreats to 1 main event a year, you can bet there will always be one... and if there wasn't, WOTC would probably pay to make sure there was one.

They have non AP material. But they can't use it as filler because it's a different animal. Don't forget that there's a subscription for Adventure Paths, with one Path adventure per month.

Pessimist!

You'd shoot them in cold blood? That's heinous. Those poor bears!
