I would assume that the cost would be averaging $9.95/month for a year subscription. Or a total of $119.40. Versus paying the $14.95/month total of $179.40. $60 savings. What is listed so far isn't generating any positives for me, unless it was pay $9.95 for a whole year of DDI, and that I could use the online table and min creator to run a 3.5 game.

No clue on the pricing scheme (although I think your guess is probably right) but as far as I'm aware, the tabletop is 100% game neutral, so you can run 3.5, 3.0, 2.0, or even SR or Rifts (or whatever) on it. I can't be so certain about the character genner, but I'd assume you could use it for any system as well (although its likely that only 4E races/equipment will be in there). Cheers! :)

I am curious about the bolded part.
I wonder if this is a continuation of their current policy to sell PDFs at cost, meaning for the same price as the print book at retail, or if Mike Shea meant PDFs would be available for a cost, meaning "not free."

I think they are referring to the Dragon and Dungeon .pdfs, but I may be wrong. I'm assuming that we will get more detailed information from WoTC later today or from other bloggers.

Hmmm... Since it came after the Ebooks and Rules Database section, I didn't connect it to Dragon and Dungeon. But that is as good a theory as any at the moment.

The dungeon and dragon PDF's were expected to sell for about $3.00 ea. the virtual Mini's had to be purchased seperately from the real ones at a discounted cost. The core books PDF thing is still undecided. They are leaning towards making them ALL available online only free to paying customers. An offline version of the PDF will be available for additional cost.
