Simple question, if an Ogre bull rushes a medium sized person into a wall, how much damage does it do?

If said Ogre pushes the person off a fall, then they will take falling damage, easy, but what about if they hit a wall?

I would assume the wall will take some amount of the damage the person should, especially if it is a wooden wall, people being thrown through the walls of the Kreegs house maybe?

My own houserule is 1d6 per every 5' pushed. Also, the victim is prone in the last legal space they can occupy (this includes getting shoved into applecarts and stuff.)

Seems reasonable, 1d6 per 5 ft, + strength? I would have thought a stonger being would do more damage.

Also, would you apply the same damage to the obsticle? I'm thinking a human would struggle to push another through a stone wall (high hardness), but through a wooden one(low hardness)? Possibly....

The wall will take the exact same amount of damage as the character smushed into it. Equal and opposite reactions.

Less damage would be taken if the wall breaks than if it holds. This is because the deceleration of the impact is spread out. Ever see someone try to smash a beer bottle on their head that *doesn't* break?

As for damage I have no idea. Perhaps treat it as a slam attack? If thrown into a wall the size of the attacker has no bearing. If crushed than more mass = more force = more owch

The strength bonus will figure into the distance pushed (which then figures into the damage). So someone with a relative higher strength is going to do more damage, certainly. But if all they did was shove you a little bit (whether because they were weak or you were strong) then all you should get hurt is a little bit.

Most commoners under level 15 will die before they get pushed through a wooden wall of 6". Your not going to have to worry about that kind of thing as much. ;-)

Ahh, yes!

Ahh,but we are talking commoners, and since when have houses been made from 6" wall pannels anyway? Log cabins mayb, but your average town structure? probably more like 2" with an air gap....

;)
