Yeah, I spotted the fence being a metre high, so I wondered if you were going metric on us!

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Next it's cubits, stone, and hands!!! ;)

Male Human Wizard 17 (Conjuration specialist)

As Altai finishes waving his hands around, a glittering multihued beetle appears next to the bandits' leader in a puff of vanilla-scented smoke. It promptly bears down on Swertlow with its huge mandibles.

Chomp, chomp. As I have the Augment Summoning feat, the bug is tougher and stronger than its beetle-brothers. Attack roll 15+3=AC 18, damage 6+2+1(smite evil)= 9.

His spells exhausted, Altai draws his crossbow and loads it.

I also step 5' away from the action, ending up in P15. The beetle only lasts for one round, so it disappears just before my initiative next round.

M Halfling Barbarian 10

"AAAAAAAIIIIEEEEE!" Gittik starts in superstitious horror at the beast that simply appeared before him.

Male Wild Elf Druid 16 (Shifter version, PHBII)

I figured that the guy who just pasted me was still "on" me, that's why I backed up 5' before healing, so I wouldn't draw an AoO. But if he thinks the lil' elf is no longer a threat, wait till round 3, and I will be happy to disabuse him of that notion! ;)

Male Human Rogue 14

Hey Vatters, Heathy had you at Q14 – moving to P15 puts you closer to the action – and within sword’s reach of the thug at O14 … just so as you know…

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

The halfling screams in terror; I guess he has a phobia.
Swertlowe is still standing, just barely.

Yeah, you meant Q 15, right? That's other side of the wall from them.

Yeah, if you don't step back he'll be on you still and you'll risk AOO's with casting. I figured you were backing up 5 feet, if they bad guy stays put he happens to be adjacent to Stiggy as well, so I figured he'd switch targets to the dwarf (whom you were standing next to) - 'course he might decide to follow you instead.

Oooops. Yeah, that's what I meant. Sorry 'bout that.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Now Becton.

<Stig unleashes a stream of verbal abuse toward anyone bearing arms nearby: questioning their ancestry, the craftsmanship of their weapons, making claims of illicit relations with their mothers, etc.... I dare not actually write these things.>

A huge giant form comes onto the scene. Cloaked in tattered robes, he wields a longsword in one hand and a throwing axe in the other, he snarls a battle cry and charges headlong into the fray....init-1d20=7+2=9

Harvak....here's what you see. You're coming up on the wagon, not the combat site. You see a wagon, a great dane baying, and 2 men on the ground, in leather armor with swords. There's a man up on the seat of the wagon, holding a blonde girl in a red hooded cloak. He has her grappled pretty well. "Heh, heh, pretty...." the other two laugh.

They're to the left and right of the wagon, you're 30 feet away. The dog barks at the one on the left.
Roll hide roll and move silently roll. Know that the fog is covering you well, and the loud dog is also covering you well.

Nice edit!!! ;)

hide roll 1d20+2=21 !

move silently (no not really)
1d20+2=6

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

They don't hear nothing but the loud dog. They're all looking at the girl. You have the drop on them. You have a clear shot at the two on the ground, but the one grappling with the girl would be 50/50 to shoot him or her.
Your move.

Okay. I stab one in the mid back with my longsword. The other one gets my hand axe in the back of his neck!

longsword in the back!
1d20+4=21-2=19 crit!

handaxe in the neck'
1d20+2=22-4=18

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Yeah; the handaxe is a threat, not the sword.
Roll to confirm with the axe and gimme some damage!

1d20+2=16

handaxe!
1d6+4=6

M Halfling Barbarian 10

I think the penalties for two-weapon fighting are -4 on the on-hand and -8 for the off-hand, if you are using a light weapon in the off-hand and don't have the feat. Not that I think that matters here, since I think you scored enough with the on-hand and got a natural 20 on the off-hand.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Two dead.

The one on the cart bumps the girl to the side. He brings his bastard sword down on you.
His bastard sword slices you in the shoulder. You take 6h.p. in damage.

Your turn!!!

That's truth. -4 primary, -8 secondary with a light weapon and no feat.

Both hits stood as good and proper, though.

Attacking with long sword only-I pulled those numbers out of my head! boy was I off! it is -4/-8
1d20+4=23

1d8+4=11

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

He drops bleeding in the dirt.

"Thankyou! Thankyou! Oh...my....oh, you are big! Are you hurt, onoes! You're bleeding!!! The rest of my benefactors are up ahead, there's some kind of scuffle!!! They have a cleric, of Pelor! Come with me, he can heal you I'd fain think!!! Wow...you're big!!!"

The girl motions you up a trail climbing a hill. Do you follow?

Show up on the thread, damn post!!!

Yes I am coming. I pick up that Bastard sword he stuck me with, and decide to use it for the time being as a two handed weapon.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

You run up the trail a ways. There's a cleric of Pelor (Becton) working a crossbow. He looks surprised at you, until the girl says, "he's with us. He saved me from some bandits, but he's hurt."

The cleric heals the halforc...7 h.p.!!!

As all MacHammars know, the Bastard Sword is an EXOTIC weapon and requires special proficiency. Pbps, btw, are really helping me get my rules down.... You can, I believe, wield a longsword two-handed and increase you strengh bonus to 150% (rounding down).

Meh name is Harvak. What troubles you people? who are these men?

A bastard sword is martial if used two-handed.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Now their attacks. Two warriors swing at Stigwold, one hits and stiggy takes 5 in damage.

One warrior steps up to the druid, total miss; his sword clangs off the archway, sending a shower of gravel on the wizard.

Swertlowe looks at the horrid beetle, then at the horrid halfling, trying to ascertain the greater of two evils. He swings his tulwar at Gittik, in vain.
"Uuuh...I yield..."is all he says, as he drops his tulwar.

Out of a window on the US second/ British first floor, on the south wall of the house, a figure pokes out and fires at Beldan. The bolt hits him dead to rights in the gut, 4 h.p. in damage.

Top of the order, WOOOOOT!!!

BUT you can use a bastard sword two handed as a melee weapon proficiency (similarly with 1.5 x your strength bonus). It only requires an exotic weapon proficiency to use if you want to use it one handed.

EDIT: beaten by the halfling. Damn those guys are sneaky.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

The figure in the window, you now can glimpse, is mannish shaped, with the head of a rook.
(i.e. crow, not castle-shaped chesspiece).

Yeah I'll gonna +6 Damage the next thing in my way!

Male Human Rogue 14

“Ooooowwww!” wails Beldan, holding his gut.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Coooool. Apparently MacHammars ain't as smart as they thought.

M Halfling Barbarian 10

Can Gittik see the shooter?

EDIT - no, obviously he can't, since it is on the south side of the house.

EDIT 2: Anyway, it's Stiggy's go.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!
Gittik wrote:

He sees Beldan's been gutshot just now. He saw the bolt zing in the earlier attack round.

On the orc: Attack: 1d20 7=12, Damage: 1d10 4=7

Male Human Rogue 14

Will Beldan need a climb check to get into the ground floor (first floor) window?

You killed the orc last round. So this round you kill one of the two warriors on ye; o13 or p12 your choice.

Yep. Climb roll of 10.

O13, but my attack roll is only ten,in that case, losing my racial bonus.
