Elgan Dreadwood |

Seeing how his last ball of fire did little more than annoy the hell-horse, Elgan's mind begins looking for alternative's as he hurls another ball of fire at the beast.
Elgan's to hit/dmg with Produce Flame #3: (1d20 4=19, 1d6 4=7)
"Alrigh' now," He says as his flame ball splashes against the ebony hide. "Ah t'ink it's time we git down ta bidness."

Becton of Pelor |

Realizing he's quickly being surrounded, Becton once again calls on Pelor to banish the undead. His holy symbol and shield blast beams of pure light as he utters, "Pelor's holy radiance destroy the unliving - one and all!"
Turning check (1d20+4=15)So, maximum 4 HD creatures affected.
Turning Damage (2d6+5=14) So, 14 HD of undead affected.

The horse rears up and kicks and bites at Becton.
One solid hoof lands on his chest for 8 h.p. in damage.
The remaining zombies (three of them; the one at L10 moved to N10)
attack Stiggy; none of them hit. (Stiggy's ac21,not 19, dipwad!)
The odd frog bagpiper stabs again at the dwarf, but cannot penetrate his armor.
Harvak charges the remaining horse (to N5) and drives his greatsword into its heart. It backs up scrabbling on the cobblestone and lands dead on the sleeping pilgrim in J8.
ROUND 4!!!
Recapping: Unturned zombies at m10, n11, o10
Bullywug undead bagpiper at m11
Turned zombies at i5, h8,i8,j8, i11, i12, and i13.

Tenser rips the thing's right fibula out and makes a wil save to go bury it. It's almost toast.
The mighty Stiggy finally bashes down the amphibian abomination. The piping of the thing finally chortles once or twice feebly, and with one long bray at the drones ceases to play.
All around Stiggy are three zombies still...
I was calling myself th' dipwad,...;) these zombies are pretty much on the ropes; if you guys want to keep flogging them that's cool too, or I can just say that you thrash them but good. It's all good in the hood.

dungeonmaster heathy |

Might as well say we beat them. Is Beldan's girl among the sleepers?
A thorough go over reveals that she is not among them.
I won't keep this up forever though; everybody's burning up spells and patience and whatnot.End of combat. 620 exp. each!

dungeonmaster heathy |

Huzzah! Altai snuffs the dream-brazier ASAP. Do the dreamers still scream and twitch?
By snuff you mean put out the brazier I take it. You don't want to smoke any, right? The hookah stops bubbling, but the dreamers.....no change. You notice amber-glassed...wine bottles; some empty, some broken, 2 full and uncorked, lieing in a mess in and amongst the dreamers' pillows.

Beldan Vale |

“We’ve two wizards and a priest here … surely someone must know what they,” Beldan gestures to the corpses of the two horses, “and that,” he points to what is left of the piper, “are?”
Then he shrugs, as if it doesn’t matter, and gets on with the business of searching the place for treasure, secret ways, whatever.
Search:15+7 = 22

Becton of Pelor |

Becton gives Beldan a hit from the wand: Wand (1d8+1=8)
"How about now," he asks Beldan. In the meantime, he also casts a spell for his own bruises and wounds: CMW (2d8+4=12)
"Anyone else hurt, or in need of mending?"
He'll also glance around at the creatures to see if anything rings a bell: Knowledge (Religion) (1d20+6=10) Knowledge (History) (1d20+4=21)

Becton of Pelor |

“Thanks my man. Or … um, thank Pelor for me…”
Becton turns with a half-smile, and taps the sun-face upon his black shield - "His grace shine on thee..."
"Smoking kill."
Man, I was just laughing about that - I'm picturing Gittik and his crazed look doing PSAs on TV.

Becton of Pelor |

"Yes"
Stig is messed up. I don't know how many points and I've got an emergency here. can't check. Gotta go.
Becton places a hand upon the dwarf's shoulder and grips his holy symbol for a healing prayer: CMW (2d8+4=13)
What's your status, man? Need a few more hits? Let me know.

Altai Iscarni |

Knowledge (arcana) 16+9=25, Knowledge (planes) 5+5=10, knowledge (religion) 14+4=18. Bit of a mixed bag there. I also cast Detect magic.
"Surprise! The hookah is magical! Um, OK, so that wasn't very surprising... Also, frog-boy has a magical sword. Could be useful for someone."

Riese |

Knowledge checks. I know Local, Dungeoneering and Arcana equally.
1d20 5=14
1d20 5=24, 1d20 5=14
1d20 5=21, 1d20 5=12
There are 5. You can divvy them out as you need to. Trying to ID the horse, piper, hookah/fire/dreamer, stuff in bottles, etc.....
"Let's see.... there is some interesting stuff here."

The horse(s) are fiendish. Hell or some such place is in their pedigree; they might have some nightmare in them.
The piper was a bullywug bard zombie. The stuff in the bottles--looks like wine, smells like wine, but there's something murky floating in it. Wanna taste?
The hookah--anyone's guess; though you've heard that on other planes, sometimes the creatures feed on fear, or pain.
Two of the dreamers you recognize; they're Saltmarshers. One lives, one dead. The wife now a widow and the husband ran a fishmarket/ fishing operation that went out of business last year...

Yes, the hookah seems to absorb nightmares, and transmogrify it into a smoky form.

Elgan Dreadwood |

Elgan assists in separating the dead victims from the living. He looks over the horses very carefully.
"Don' rightly know whar dese came frum chere, but dey ain't nat'ral, dat much I kin tell!"
"I'fn dey wuz feedin' on dere nightmares, wuz ir fer rec'reation?, fer gettin stronger? An' how long dey bin doin' dis? Does it kill da peoples? Er duz they return im ta town 'n pick em up agin later fer another round?"
The elf looks around the room at the dead bodies, both natural and reanimated, with wild-eyed abandon.
"Ah tells yeh, sumthin STINKS aroun' heah! Dere is sumthin' SERIOUSLY messed up in dis heah town!" He says, just a little too close to panic or paranoia for comfort. "How kin did be goin' on in yer own neck o' da woods an' NOT realize it?!?"
Is our egotistical mage actually hurt? I don't remember reading him getting hit! If he is seriously hurt, I can burn a 2nd lvl spell for a CMW, but I have a feeling our BBG will require magic to help hit, and my only magic weapon is my last 1st lvl spell! 'Magic Fang' Otherwise maybe Becton can spare a CLW and I'll help him out with a backup CMW later?

Becton of Pelor |

My wounds are severe! It is so hard to concentrate......I think I am bleeding out......how long does it take for infection to set in......Owww..
Becton approaches Riese, "Where are you hurt, scholar?"
CLW (1d8+4=12)Did that get you covered? Or you need more?
