Differences between Dungeon adventures and hardcover

Shackled City Adventure Path

Hi all,
I've read somewhere in this forum a thread where the designer asked for advices on what to change/add/remove in the process of creating the hardcover SCAP version.

However, I'm not able to find a summary of the actual differences that made it through this process. Could someone please list them, or point me to some web resource detailing them?

Thanks!
Marco

I personally believe that the changes between the HC and magazine modules would be too numerous to list but here is my feeble attempt:

- There is an introduction for the DM which ties together all the individual chapters as well as the motivations and personalities of the enemies.

- NPCs that otherwise dropped off the planet (like Celeste!) are now explained a little better.

- Sidebars in the chapters explain where the PCs should be and how their actions are effecting the plans of the cagewrights. They also mention what the PCs should and should not know at certain points.

- There is an extra adventure, Drakthars Way, between Life's Bazaar and Flood Season.

- Little touches from the magazine modules (like the aura and lighting sidebars) are sometimes gone in the HC.

- Cauldron is detailed HEAVILY. Many of the buildings in the city are named and given descriptions. DM's are given unbelievable amounts of material to work with to make the city alive.

- Traits for characters born in Cauldron are described such as Dream Haunted, or Noble.

- A description of how to best generate PCs is at the back of the book.

Thats only some of the stuff that comes to mind. The hardcover is excellent.

The thread you mentioned is the best list i have seen. James Jacobs started the thread and used it to collect loose ends to be tied up for the Hardcover. Here's the link, as well as a link to another thread of errors in the Hardcover:

Hardcover Errors

I highly recommend the Hardcover. If you're going to invest the time to run the SCAP, you may as well use the most comprehensive source.

I would definitely go with the Hardcover. If you are going to spend a whole campaign on it, you might as well spend the money to get it all in one book, with the extras and with the nice map folio.
