Liberty's Edge

i am creating a rouge in a campaign that will be stating sometime soon and i was thinking of what kind of personality i would be role playing. I have come to the conclusion that the character will be working toward assassin in the long run. I am basing this character off poisons in a way of saying an i am bringing the the question to all you at paizo, i am asking for unique ideas of different devices i could possible use to deliver doses of poisons.

>Like hollow chambers within a bolt to deliver poison through a tip

>a small hand-held device that can spray a mist into the 5ft space in front of a person with poison or acid.

>injection needles

etc.. i am open to any ideas you may have.

Blowgun darts. Simple, and effective. If you can manage it, see if your DM will let you freeze each seperate dose of poison so that the poison is the dart itself. The idea is that they hit the target, and melt into the wound, leaving no trace behind other than the poison and wound itself. The obvious drawback is that you have to keep it cold.

Poisoned sheath - the dagger (or other light bladed weapon, spear-head, arrow or bolt point, etc.) rests in a sheath containing one dose of poison and is sealed with gum, tar, or wax to keep the poison fresh; it takes a move-action to unsheath the envenomed weapon (the Quick Draw feat reduces this to a free/swift action, as normal).

Most of the methods here seem to rely upon the "Injury" method of delivery, but there is also Inhaled and Ingested. Ingested only has so many means of delivery, but for Inhaled poisons, you could have:

  • Eggshell "grenade"
  • Disposable one-use "straws" to use as a blowgun
  • Rope or twine soaked in the liquid inert form of the poison, but releases the poison when burned

Some brief ideas.

Carefully disguise your poison as something that can be smoked; alternatively, you could disguise your poison as a fast, convienient meal. It might take a lifetime, but it'll catch up with your enemy, and provide you with profits, too.

That reminds me of stories where there's a good king who gets poisoned slowly over time by his advisor to make it appear as if the king is getting ill.
