Stacking Entanglements

3.5/d20/OGL

Do entanglements stack? If a creature gets hit with a net and a tanglefoot bag (fails saving throw) does he suffer 2x the penalties (to attack and Dex) and move at 1/4 speed? Also if he gets hit with a net and a harpoon, does he move at 1/4 speed?

Thanks

DM's call, but I'd say that "entangled" is a condition you can only apply once. You're either entangled, with all the appropriate penalties, or you're not. The only advantage to entangling your enemy multiple times is that they have to break each entanglement (net, scrape off the sticky goo, break out of the web or entangling foliage, etc.) to end the condition of being "entangled."

I'd tend to agree and this is probably true for most if not all the conditions. If your nauseated then your nauseated - you can't be double plus nauseated etc.

I'm not so sure. You can certainly have a double-blind study, for instance.

(I agree that multiple versions of nearly all conditions would overlap, not stack.)
