I need to cancel my pathfinder subscription because I'm going to DM the first AP, but someone else is going to DM the next AP. So I'm not allowed to read them!
I still want to be able to receive the campaign background stuff in the Chronicles subscription.
Is it possible to keep the chronicles subscription if I cancel the main pathfinder subscription?
Is keeping the chronicles subscription the fastest way to receive those items as they are completed?
Or would it be faster to just pre-order everything I want right now?
And here's my biggest question: will I lose the "Charter Subscriber" tag on the message boards? That would be such a bummer ;^)
I'm still haven't made up my mind about the GameMastery modules. I haven't actually used any of them yet, but I like the extra background information they provide.

A friend of mine and I have run into a similar problem. He lives in another state and is running the game for a group there, while he telecommutes and convinced me to run the campaign for our regular group.
The fact that he has read the campaign isn't having too much of an effect. I've made a couple changes to keep him on his toes, and it is working out just fine.
Also, the books have been good enough that I wouldn't mind getting them, and then after running through the campaign going back and reading them.
But my understanding is that you can have a Pathfinder Chronicles subscription without a Pathfinder subscription. You would lose the Pathfinder Charter Subscriber from your tag lines (since you would not be a subscriber any longer). Subscribing to chronicles will mean that you continue to get free PDFs of most products and that you won't forget to order any product in the line. It can be shipped as they become available, making sure you do get it in a timely fashion (or you could have them send a shipment once a month and save on shipping).

DeadDMWalking spoke truly. You can have a Chronicles subscription and not one for the AP. However, I will tell you that you will miss out on a lot of cool campaign info in the back of each Pathfinder. Things like the articles about the gods, details on the dragons of Golarion, Magnimar, the Stone Giant ecology, etc. There is a still quite a bit of cool stuff in each Pathfinder, even if you don't run the adventures right now. So if you are interested in how the world is being developed, you might want to keep buying Pathfinder to get all the other stuff that isn't adventure related.
