The Heart of ..... spells

3.5/d20/OGL

There is a series of wizard/sorcerer spells in either PH2 or Complete Mage called Heart of Air, Heart of Earth, Heart of Fire and Heart of Water. Has anyone taken these spells and are they any good? I have my eye on Heart of Air because it fits my character concept but I'm not sure the spell is worth it. It gives a +10 to Jump and +10 to fly speed (which I assume stacks with the Fly spell) and Feater Fall once. It's a second level spell so I guess I shouldn't expect much. It might be nice to combind it with Heart of Water to get the Light Fortification benefit. Any thoughts or comments?

Man, I really need to get Complete Mage.

Its a good book IMO. The reserve feats are kind of neat, but I really like the book for the first part where is provides ideas and help for the different types of spellcasting roles. Most the new spells are so-so.

They're useful utility spells given that they last 1 hour/level.

Yeah, I would've gotten it (Complete Scoundrel too)but I think that the Complete guys are running out of ideas. In the 3 new Complete books that came out, none of them had a new class! But maybe I should try CS and CM. I don't really like CC, though.

CC was a complete let down. But so was CM. And I don't like rogues so I didn't consider CS.

But I don't think I'd like it anyway. I think I may be the only one who doesn't like CAdv. I love my CAr.

I liked both CAr and CAdv, but I couldn't stand CD. It seems like, though druids use divine magic, it was up to CAdv to deal with them.

No. Take heart; you are not alone.

Why the hell is Leap Attack in the Complete Adventurer, anyway? And who the hell came up with that gods-awful feat in the first place?

As far as new classes, I'm glad there weren't any in the new Completes.
