In our STAP, my character, Tristan Lidu, has come to despise Tolin (for reasons regular readers might realize). I think they're awesome personally. A Rival adventuring party is always good motivation for the PCs to get their act together.

my players HATE the ravens, I didn't really put alot of thought into their first appearance, thus I had the Ravens kind of snub the party. This pissed off the cleric/rogue so much that when they found Kaskus Keil unconscious in the armory, he immediately tried to Coupe de grace him. Luckily the monk grappled him to stop the murder of the poor dwarf whose only fault was my lack of initial depth.
Liamae got eaten by a Fiendish croc that Bua Gorg summoned...they tried to stop his summons, but his +8 concentration got him through the initial round...

My players started off thinking the Jade Ravens are twits and nothing has improved their standing. After the first meeting, Phineas, the party's 'procurement specialist' looked at the other members and said "Two things. One, we do not name our group some dopey nickname, and Two, we are NOT wearing matching outfits!!"
By the end of the Bullywug Gambit, they think the Jade Ravens are a complete joke and are pretty much openly mocking them if they serve up any pomp.

My PCs and the Ravens have an uneasy relationship. The PCs started off by hating their arrogant guts, and then turned to laughing at them when none of the Ravens could hit a damn thing when Drevoraz took over Vanderboren Manor. Then they were surprised when Tolin took it gracefully and was thankful, and started to think the whole alliance thing might work. Then things went to hell when for various reasons the PC wizard lied to Tolin during War of the Wielded (which I ran as a sidetrek after Bullywug Gambit) which led him to being possessed by one of the sentient weapons and nearly killing Lavinia. He took it badly, as you'd expect. The two groups have been separated since (we're still in Sea Wyvern's Wake) and things have been left to stew as they are, although the Ravens earned a bit of respect by taking down a grey render in an expanded brotherhood pirate encounter I ran. Time will tell how things go from here...

Apparently, my group got along OK with the Ravens. There was some antagonism between Tolin and my pc's, mostly because Tolin has a stick shoved up his... burro.
They were suitably impressed when Tolin was found. He had been wracked with guilt over the loss of his team and joined the Resistance. Gone was any of his old pride, replaced with a quiet determination. He actually wound up being a better person, and the party liked him a lot more from then on.
