Titan Trouble in the Last Resort

Age of Worms Adventure Path

I've been DMing the Age of Worms campaign and my party has made all the way to the Library of Last Resort. The problem now is that the party got a little sassy with Krathanos the Titan and got themselves mostly killed.

Everyone in the party eventually all got resurrected but the Titan ended up keeping all their gear. The group headed back and negotiated for their gear back in exchange for plane shifting Krathanos out of Tilagos.

The party didn't get his belt and they just dropped him off in the jungle in the vicinity of where the Spire of Long Shadows took place.

I don't see how the druids are going to allow them to access the Fountain after unleashing Krathanos back into the world.

Any suggestions of how to get this campaign back on track after this disaster?

And on top of that they didn't get the belt! Classic! :)

This looks like an opportunity for the good guys and the bad guys to team up (your PCs and Darl's party) to take out Krazy K. Darl could approach the PCs if necessary to offer the truce.

Once the deal is done and someone goes for the belt off of his fallen body, the deal goes bad and someone back-stabs the other party in a classic Marvel Superhero good vs. bad team fight.

Well if they got their stuff back but not the belt then it defiantly sounds like a hunting mission to me. Releasing Krathanos from Last Resort won't cause the druids to not allow them access to the fountain. Only not completing the 4 trials will do that (bringing back the belt that is). I would have Darl track down Krathanos and attempt to bring the belt back. That opens up a couple of possibilities. The adventure never said Darl failed to take the belt, he only failed to purchase it and lost his Minotaur in the process. I would give some clue to the pc's that Darl is going after the belt. They can either choose to side with him (and be betrayed) or they can watch and wait to see how the battle enfolds (scrying). If Darl wins he should be easier for the party to take out. If not then Krathanos will be easier for them to beat. either way you get the module back on track with the pc's getting the belt back and going back to last resort. Throw in some extra encounters for their trouble in the jungle and you have yourself a nice little side quest to the adventure.

My players finished off Krathanos last session having 1 person killed. Then got smashed by the Night Twist with several deaths. They easily crushed harrowdeath (sp?), and found the Roc King dead. So they pretty much know at this point I am about to smack them with Darl and friends. But knowing he is coming only evens the field a little bit, as Darl has watched all of their fights on Last Resort, and knows exactly how he's going to attack the group and who to target first. Oh yeah Krekie hasn't been seen yet so that's my ace in the whole to take out a troublesome pc.

My party had killed the night twist before trying to take on the titan. My party knows that Darl's minotaur buddy failed to negotiate with the titan before so I'll probably end up going with some sort team up / backstabbing operation when we play next on Sunday.

I'm wondering though. Since the party already killed the Night Twist, does Darl's group have any chance of completing the trials? I'm thinking that the trial is considered complete for Darl's group even if another group is the one kills the night twist.

That or Darl's gang killed a different Night Twist that your PCs were unaware of. Or, as a third option, Darl doesn't worry about the Night Twist and instead assumes that getting the belt makes his party and the PCs party even. In which case its up to the Wild Watchers to decide the victorious party, assuming of course that the PCs are still alive.
