I saw the trailer for this movie about 8 months ago, and it had me with the lines, “He’s the cheese to my macaroni.” and “I’m already pregnant what other shenanigans can I get into?” I saw this movie recently, and I fell in love. This is my pick for movie of the year. This movie is now my favorite movie, which has been in debate for years.
This dark comedy, from the makers of Thank You for Smoking, has everything to make it a great movie. Its plot may be fairly simple, but thank God simplicity is always great. The characters are what hit home. Each one seems to be hand-crafted out of reality giving each character’s quirks and idiosyncrasies rooms to work. In the end Ellen Page stole my heart, and made me happy to be one of the off beat, smart ass youths of middle America. If you can only see one movie this year go see Juno.
