Small Attention Span

I know that the open calls will continue and that RPG Superstar is still in progress, but, I'd like to see what people who write adventures, and possible those who simply make their stuff up in advance get their ideas and real insentive to get something finished. The former for Paizo guys and anyone else who writes adventures and RPG stuff and the latter for them and anyone else.
Also, I was wondering exactly how all the people in the RPG world edit their material such that it fits into that nice 32, 64, 244, 160 or whatever page limit. I've written things with a page limit, or word count limit before on the side, but have had trouble narrowing it down into something passable.
In essence, where does you material come from, how do you follow it to the finish, for what reason, and how do you keep it within a passable limit?

we do it because we have to. It's a bookbinding thing. Printers operate in 32-page units called signatures. When you get a novel and it has N number of pages in the back that are blank, that is to fill out a signature.
