My world is called Melstarian crystals.
It is set in a time about a hundred years after a great war. The dark folk creatures rose up beating the known races. Your community live underground. You might be the last of your kind.
I will be using the following system to role up characters
you use an 18 / 16 / 14 /12 /10 / 8 arranged as you like add in racial bonuses.
As this is my first pbm i may need some help from my players however i am a very experienced gm.
I will only be using the core books.
Any takers let me know i am looking for about six players

It is an interesting system and you have given me a good idea but in my games I would use 17/15/13/11/9/7 I just see it more balanced because you give more strenghs than weaknesses but if they wait to the fouth level they will improve oly one abilitie and they will continue growing in power while the advance in level.

I am happy with this system however i do appriciate your point. I have several valid reasons for doing this so your just have to trust me on this.
Design your character and lets get the ball rolling.

Well, I will trust you. Now, do we have total freedom to use the PHB to create our characters?

Yes you can i roleplay communication skills so dont bother putting skill points into them. However everything else is fine. I have a few house rules nd will explain them if you create certain character classes.

Hey all!
I'd love to get involved if there is a spot open. Let me know. I'm relatively new to PbP, but I can post frequently, which is a good thing. I'm willing to play any character as needed, but prefer rangers or fighters. Let me know if you have room and are interested in one more.
Umm, I don't think that this is a PbP. If I'm reading this correctly, than this is a play by snail mail game.

Yeah, I caught that a couple minutes ago. Thanks, though. That's what I get for not reading thoroughly enough...
Best of luck anyway.

Happens to me all the time.

If by play by mail you mean snail mail, what is the advantage of that over PbP on these boards?
I have no interest in a true play by mail game (seems like the stamp cost would add up fast) but would not mind a play by post game.
Yeah, I imagine it would add up.
Just out of curiousity, how does it work? It seems like a round of combat or a short dialouge with an NPC could take weeks to resolve. Things like initiative would seem like they would be a pain in the ass to keep track of.
